  1. Shows and entertainers on Princess are family friendly.
  2. In all my Princess cruises ship time is changed to match local time. The only exception was Puerto Vallarta. If that is your port take note.
  3. I stick with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the DR.
  4. I would imagine the Horizon Ct. It should be open until midnight.
  5. I always fold the same. Attach to luggage at the hotel in the morning before leaving for the pier. I place one luggage tag on each handle of the suitcase. I bring along scotch tape instead of using stables. Also never had an issue.
  6. Check the official web sites for each country's passport requirements. If even one of them has the 6 month rule then you will require valid passports with 6 months validity at the time of the visit. And yes, you must meet the requirements even if you don't disembark the ship. You have time to renew. My renewal, in the spring of this year using the regular process took just under 3 months. There is an expedited process. You are also facing possible delays in case of a shutdown in November. I would get the renewal process going right away.
  7. Agree, Steve Morris. He went from cruise ships to Branson. Don't know where he is now.

  9. Makes the math even more favorable for the plus fare.
  10. Different ships have different names for their DRs. The Ruby has 3 DRs. Botticelli is on deck 6 aft. Access is from the aft elevators or stairs on deck 7 or above. On exiting the DR you have to go up to deck 7 or above and walk forward. Da Vinci is on deck 6 mid ship. A portion of this DR on the starboard side is used for reserve class dining. Michelangelo DR is on deck 5 mid ship. All DRs have the same menus, and all are basically the same in design. There are no real differences in the DRs. Private tables are small tables that are placed maybe a foot or less apart and are for one or two people. While they are private, no one sits across from you, people will be just a few feet away on each side. I can't explain why private tables are not offered in the two mid ship DRs. Dine My Way is funky. You can speak with the head waiters once on board to adjust your dining preferences. Remember this is only for dinner. DR daily breakfast and lunch on sea days is open dining in one of the DRs.
  11. Are you speaking about the stand alone alcoholic plus beverage package? The cost is $76.70/pp/day. You will still be charged for the daily gratuity $16, $17 or $18/pp/day depending on cabin category and wifi. If you purchase the plus fare the cost is $60/pp/day. The plus fare includes the daily gratuity and unlimited wifi. It also includes two casual dining meals, some special desserts, and other things. If you do the math it takes between 2 to 3 alcoholic beverages/pp/day to break even. It all depends on how many non alcoholic beverages such as specialty coffee/espresso drinks you consume as well as using the other benefits included with the plus fare. Figure cocktails are in the $11 range, beers around $6/7, most straight whiskeys around $8/9, specialty coffees around $5/6. Many wines are included in the plus fare package. There are a number of wines which cost more than $15. In that case you are charges the difference +18%.
  12. In all Princess ships currently sailing balcony category cabins and lower do not have a sofa. There is only a single desk chair. If it is a balcony cabin then there are 2 chairs and a small table on the balcony. Mini suites and full suites have a sofa(s). On Royal class ships there is an additional category, deluxe balcony, that has a two seat sofa. The new soon to be launched Sun and Star Princess are different in design. They have various cabin categories with sofas. If your intention is to have meals inside your cabin or to sit and watch TV then it really isn't comfortable in cabins without sofas. I personally do not sit around inside the cabin. If I do then I sit on the balcony. I prefer to get out and about. For me lack of a sofa isn't a real issue.
  13. Can you tell me first what deck/s the Princess Theater is located on? - Enter on deck 6 or 7. You can access all seating from either entrance. I find deck 7 the better way to enter. Here are a couple names and if you have been there, can you tell me what they are about? Gelato - Gelato Ice Cream selections, cost involved. The Enclave - Thermal pool and such. Cruise long access fee. Bellinis - A bar with a small table area that overlooks the Piazza. The Shops - are Princess shops on two decks? - Stores selling clothing, jewelry, sundries, logo wear, take home duty/tax free alcohol and other items Princess Live Cafe - A bar outside of Princess Live with all the normal drinks and I believe, not sure, specialty coffees. There is some comfortable seating along the windows. A lot of readers fill this seating during the day. Princess Live - A small theater type setting where activities like karaoke, trivia, game shows, talks are held. Plunge Pool compared to the Fountain pool? Exactly what it sounds like. A small pool where you can plunge in. Horizon Bristol - difference between this and the Horizon Court and Terrace - No real difference between the Court and Bistro. The buffet stretches the entire length of the court and bistro. Different sections serve different items. In busy times you can sit anywhere, it's all open. Some seating sections and serving lines are closed off during slack times. The Horizon Terrace is an outside seating area with a bar. You can bring your food there and dine at the tables. There is also some comfortable seating where you can just sit and enjoy the ocean view. The buffet is open from 6am until 11 pm every day. Never closes during that time. Selections change throughout the day and evening. Tip, early in your cruise look up and down all the sections to get an idea of where different items are located. Sports deck - I did not see any miniature golf shown? Have not been up there, but believe deck 19 may have some golf holes on the Lawn Court. Not a mini golf course.
  14. #2. So you are aware. There is the Salty Dog Gastropub inside the Wheelhouse Bar and the Salty Dog Grill on the Lido deck. The Gastropub is the casual dining restaurant. The grill has burgers, dogs, fries maybe some other items at no charge from 11am until mid evening every day. Just walk up and order. The gastropub waiters may not have access to the children's DR menu. You could ask. You may be able to order something on the Ocean Now app and it would be delivered to your location in the Wheelhouse Bar. If your children are old enough then they could be at the youth center while you are enjoying a meal.
  15. Yes you can bring them. You will have to be able to step without the aid of the walker from the pontoon onto the tender. The staff will aid and support you. Both the ship and the tender may be moving in all directions. Once on the tender you have to be able to walk down a few steps to the bench seats. You will also get assistance for these steps. The staff will store your walker on the tender.
  16. Usually a sea day, but never the last evening before disembarkation. The 1st formal night will probably be the 16th or 18th. The 2nd most likely the 22nd. The 2nd formal night usually has the lobster tail. Have you checked the journey view in the app. If you are lucky the information may be there. Imagine Thanksgiving the menu will include traditional turkey.
  17. If by directly opposite you mean one cabin is on the port side and the other on the starboard side then it is unlikely you will have the same cabin steward. If you mean across the hall then you probably will have the same steward.
  18. In Italy it is treated the same as any other port day. You will have to arrange to have your belongings moved to your new cabin. Speak with your cabin stewards. If you are on the same floor you may be able to do some of the move yourselves. Leave as much on hangers in the closet as possible. The staff will move your closet stuff on a cart and hang them in your new closet. Load the balance into your luggage. You may be able to wheel this over to the new cabin or the staff will handle it. Bring your security items to the new cabin and lock them into the new safe. You and the occupants of your new cabin are asked to be out of your cabins by 8am.
  19. Nothing to store these items. There is a soap area with a small bar across where you can stand a small bottle of shampoo or a bar of soap. It is fairly easy to reach outside the shower onto the sink area and grab items.
  20. Ocean now orders go to a central location. If you are at a bar or restaurant the location probably will not be the bartender where you are. Probably more convenient just to order from the bartender or waiter. If you are in a location that does not have waiters then ocean now maybe the better option. Ocean now is also the option if you want some food items delivered to your location. Caution you to watch your on board account daily.
  21. As mentioned it is fairly easy. What isn't easy is timing. You will not know the accurate time you will be off the ship, through immigration and on the curb. You may want to arrange to have your sister in law wait outside of the parking area and then call her when you are ready.
  22. Balcony is 9ft x 9ft with 5ft of cover and 4ft uncovered. If you walk to the railing and look straight down the balcony for the cabin below is visible. Yes, if you fall straight down you would most likely land on the deck 9 balcony. Balconies for deck 9 cabins are uncovered. The ship is a wedding cake design for decks 9, 10 & 11. C312 is not HCP accessible. If you have a wheelchair or scooter it has to be able to fit through the door. The door is 22 inches wide. There is a small step over to enter the bathroom and also a small step over to enter the shower. The shower is small. I think there is one vertical hand hold bar, but not sure. No bathtub. Laundry room is across from cabin C612. It shows on the deck plans at Princess.com and also on the site you mention.
  23. If this is the situation then there are a few options. Add a Princess pre-cruise hotel option which comes with the transfers, or book the hotel and transfers on their own. I don't know if it's possible to just book a Princess transfer from the hotel to the ship. Maybe. But if they aren't staying in the same hotel(s) Princess uses then they would have to get over to that hotel to get the transfer.
  24. Fairly certain a Princess pre-cruise hotel package comes with airport to hotel & hotel to ship transfers. Is this what you have booked?
