  1. IIRC this past year they began saying 'soon' in late October but it wasn't until late December 2021/early January 2022. Try doing a search if you haven't already.
  2. I can confirm that those were the prices on our Caribbean Princess cruise in January 2022.
  3. Check out the testing at the airport (https://fly-mia.com/faqs😞 COVID-19 Testing Available from Miami International airport The Central Terminal facility, operated by Communitel and Family Rehab, Inc. and located at MIA’s Concourse E ground level median in front of Door 11, provides Antigen and Rapid PCR tests with results within 15 minutes and PCR tests with results within 40 minutes. The facility is open daily 24 hours a day for walk-ins and scheduled appointments. For testing costs or to schedule an appointment, call 305-869-1161. Customers will receive a written test result, or results can be emailed upon request. Test costs range from $79 to $179.
  4. We cruised in January and March and received our emailed folios within 24 hours of disembarkation. The email was from noreply@princesscruises.com and titled "Your Recent Journey aboard the XXXXX Princess."
  5. And with lots of human traffic going by if you are seated closer to the railings and further from the windows.
  6. Our party of 6 went to Bistro Sur La Mer on the Enchanted Princess in March. We all enjoyed the meal but the location is more than a little problematic. It is an open space overlooking the atrium which means that the noise level varies with the music being played in the atrium. We had a 6 pm reservation and the music was mostly at background level but at 8 pm another group began playing much louder and we could barely hear ourselves talk. We noticed lots of people leaving then and very few being seated. We left as soon as we finished our deserts. I question the wisdom of not only the open space but also if a restaurant only open 4 (evening) hours per day is the best use of space.
  7. Because that would make too much sense?! Especially since I don't remember any great outcries of difficulties booking those cruises.
  8. Maybe that is a recent improvement to the system. In April 2021 when entering the new passport number on that website, I got a warning that I needed to take it to the GE office for processing. Luckily the Port Everglades office is only 15 miles away. As others have noted, it didn't require an appointment and took all of 5 minutes while I remained in the waiting room.
  9. They do but they are pricey and they have been known to run out of them especially (pre-covid) on longer cruises when the cruise crud spreads.
  10. If the ship we are sailing on has a Skywalkers and the P/E/S cocktail hours correspond with sail away we will have our pre-dinner drink in Skywalkers because we Iove to watch the view. If there are too many P/E/S and the venue has changed to dark and dreary Club Fusion we give it a pass. On Royal class ships we love the outdoor bar and terrace aft of the buffet with access to more food choices and wonderful views.
  11. I think they are about the same and maybe a little less since there are no shipping charges. I bought the bracelet on a March cruise for $54 - you can use that as a comparison to the price charged ordering through the app. I'm glad I did it in person because they run small and I probably would have ordered the wrong size.
  12. We never said a word but we may have been successful in elevators because 1) we were a group of 6 and 2) two of our group are 6'3" tall and can seem rather authoritative (they are my brothers and are actually very sweet and non-argumentative) to some people 😊.
  13. You discovered that Santorini, like many of the Greek islands and the southern mainland, has a very dry climate. We lived in Athens for 3 years where there would be no precipitation for 6 months; Santorini has a similar climate. In Athens when the first rains come in the fall announcements would be made cautioning drivers because water added to all the accumulated motor oil on the roads could make them dangerously slick.
  14. Your wife is a smart woman. I do the same. My DH questions why I can't get more clothes into my checked luggage and then I just show him all the over-the-counter meds (including the emergency dental kit) and toiletries. When we took our first post-Covid cruise, I had to go through everything and ditch the expired meds including the dental kit. Then I replaced them all. I was a Girl Scout for 8 years (in addition to being a leader) and 'be prepared' sticks with you.
  15. We had the same experience. We cruised in January on the Caribbean Princess and they were absolutely mandatory; in fact crew had no problems reminding people to put on masks. We also cruised on the Enchanted Princess for 10 nights beginning March 10 right after they loosened the masking requirements. They were still required in elevators, embarkation, disembarkation, tenders and on excursion transportation which we complied with. We saw 100% compliance on our excursions (masks were required by many Caribbean ports still) and embarkation and disembarkation, maybe 75% on elevators (although most people not wearing them put them on when they saw us wearing them), and down to about 25% in the theater. Two of our group of 6 came down with Covid one on the day before and the other on the day of disembarkation so they most certainly caught it on the cruise. The only difference between their activity and the four of us who didn't get Covid (and we all self quarantined and then tested a couple of days after disembarkation) was that they had used the gym every day (sometimes multiple times a day) without wearing masks and wonder if that was where they caught it. Luckily they were fully vaccinated and double boostered and had relatively mild cases.
  16. On our two cruises since January we received our folios via an email entitled "Your Recent Journey aboard the XXXXX Princess" within 24 hours of disembarkation. It included this sentence: "If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at https://www.princess.com ." That link within the email is the Contact Us - Customer Support and Contact Information. Without the email go to https://book.princess.com/captaincircle/customerCare.page.
  17. Welcome to Cruise Critic! There is lots of useful information here but you just need to know how to find it. I suggest posting this on the Australia and New Zealand Cruisers' forum (https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/564-australia-new-zealand-cruisers/). I'm sure the well traveled cruisers on that board should be able to share their experiences. We are booked on a Round Australia cruise (28 days) in April next year. I'll have to check out the responses you receive. Luckily we have never suffered from serious sea sickness even in a tropical storm between Charleston and Fort Lauderdale, and rounding - or trying to round - Cape Horn (the captain gave up and said check it out in the distance because we are turning and heading for the Falkland Islands)!
  18. Thank you @ldtr! I confirmed by looking at my Open FCDs that $150 was applied to this cruise but it makes a point of saying that it was in USD. Then I checked the Personalizer Payments and Credits section the credit was a FCD in Australian dollars. This is the first time we are sailing on a ship not using US dollars but of course we are billed our fare in US dollars. It is all rather confusing! Credits in my Circle Savings: Credit ID# Description Earned Expires Status Amount 1111111 Future Cruise Deposit 06/21/19 Book By 06/19/21 Applied to Booking# XXXXXX $150.00 (USD) Credits on the Personalizer: Credits are in AU Dollars (AUD) Me DH Total Booking Future Cruise Deposit* $150.00 $150.00 $300.00 Total Onboard Credits $150.00 $150.00 $300.00
  19. We are in the process of booking a Princess excursion for our Australia cruise that is priced in Australian dollars. We both have OBC in US dollars. When Princess calculates the balance due they do not account for the fact that the AUD and USD are not at par. With the current exchange rate $1 AUD equals $.72 USD. As you can see in the attachment, Princess is not recognizing that. If they calculated correctly the summary for each of us should read. Reservation: $329.95 AUD = $238.24 USD Minus OBC: $150 USD Subtotal: $88.24 Instead Princess wants to charge us each $179.95 Has anyone experienced this before and, if so, how did you handle it? Thanks!
  20. When I renewed mine (January 2021) during the height of Covid and a marked slowdown in processing times, I mailed it certified mail (about $4) that provided delivery information, signed up for updates on the State Department's free website that provided processing info, and already had USPS's free Daily Digest that provided delivery date information. It was great to be able to track progress.
  21. Have you posted this on the Celebrity Forum (https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/16-celebrity-cruises/)? If not, I suggest you do so because you will receive many more responses - hopefully with useful information/experiences - from Celebrity cruisers than this forum.
  22. Here is some more recent information about taking Paxlovid. It is possible to have a Covid 'rebound' (recurrence) during which you are contagious once again (and may not realize it). https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/31/health/paxlovid-rebound-contagious-study-wellness/index.html
  23. If you are a repeat Princess cruiser there have been no changes to locating your luggage tags; they are still on-line not through the Medallion App. Follow these steps: Log in on-line > chose Upcoming Cruises > click "Manage this Booking" for your cruise and that brings up the Cruise Personalizer. Click Check-In > click Print Travel Summary > click Print Travel Summary again (in small print around the middle of the page) > click Luggage Tags. Good luck and enjoy your cruise!
  24. Yes and sometimes they aren't even advertised. If you have the embarkation lunch in the MDR ask the head waiter if he/she knows if they are being offered and/or go to Guest Services on embarkation day and ask; if they don't know they should put your name on a waitlist and/or call the DINE line and ask.
