  1. That the Emerald dozen are the cheapest has become a problem. Princess has made the Cat ME a entry fare and has put them out as guarantee only. There are also some ME forward on the Dolphin deck. I've found a few sailings where you can actually book them, but it's rare. We always book on opening day just to get one of those cabins as we like the full cover. I've written several emails and so far crickets. We were going to book one on the Majestic, but were worried about the pool area overhead. Have you sailed in one of those? We took the Riviera deck just to be sure.
  2. We actually drifted for 30-45 minutes. There was a leak in a prop shaft cooling line that needed to be fixed. We arrived 14hrs early into Papeete to disembark a few sick passengers. After leaving Papeete, we did a 180 to head back toa position closed for a air pick up. It was then decided that it was to rough to do one so we did a left turn and headed to Nuku Hiva to drop off the passenger. With all this, we still arrived on time back into LA. I'd say the ship has no lingering propulsion matters. See this was posted a month ago, looking at booking the Emerald for the first time and wanted to see if any big difference. Like that the buffet zoo is a better set up, and hope the beds have been replaced in the last 5yrs as i'm sure the one we had on the Crown was at least that old.
  3. 🤷‍♂️ I did it very early, maybe before it got blocked out
  4. Could also be for people with the Flu. The Bronchial Infection/RSV isn't much fun. A month later and still some am coughing.
  5. I wonder if they'll give me all Fosters Oil Cans.😀
  6. Being that we'll be on the ship for 40days, guess we'll get a lot of water views in.😀 Thank-you for the info.
  7. It's our crew hotel and our hotel committee is very good at picking clean quiet hotels.
  8. Anyone have any knowledge of The Grace hotel. My wife liked the art deco look of it.
  9. WOW, Mahalo. He was the best!! Can't Thank-you enough for this. We'll definitely save this photo. That's fantastic.
  10. Which dining room do you have? If you are in Michelangelo, Anastasia is the Hostess and she set us up with a beautiful window table for 2 at 6:40. James and Rachel were the best team we've ever had.
  11. We were in E730 for the 28day South Pacific. If you are on the even side say Hi to Emmanuel from Tim and Suzanne from Hawaii. He got us the shower head right away and was always cheerful and helpful. Love the crew on the ship and could go on and on about them.
  12. Learned to check daily. Looked this AM and the excursion showed 1 ticket left. Immediately bought it. No notice from Princess as to our waitlist status.
  13. I was waiting till some of our OBC showed up to book an excursion. We got the last ticket and I suppose the first slot on the waitlist. What has been anybody"s experience with the waitlist? We will be on the sailing prior to this one and if still on the waitlist I plan on talking to the Excursion desk if we aren't cleared from the list at that time. Hoping after final payment date that it'll open up. It seems now that you have to pay in advance that most wouldn't drop out. Just checking, luckily my wife doesn't check her personalizer so I have time.
  14. What type of cabin will you be in? Just did 28days on the Crown in a mini. We used a european plug under the headboard that had 3 US type plug sockets in it( I believe in the above thread) We were able to plug the lamp plug back in and connect an extension cord that ran to my wifes side. In a mini, the desk is right next to the bed and you can plug in a US type plug( used for my Bipap). Behind the TVs there was a US plug that I was able to plug in my muli port/USB device. If not in mini, you can plug in extensions to both sides of the bed Great info on other thread on what adapters to buy.
  15. Looks like it'll be good for TA. Hopefully Regal will be online in Sept/Oct so I can stream football😃
  16. I was able to get reservations in the Symphony dining room on the Regal. I switched to Concerto where there are more choices of tables without the carve out for Club class.
  17. Friends were on a sailing just prior to our 28day cruise on the Crown, and set us up. I met the young lady who assigned tables in the Michelangelo dining room right after getting on the ship. She told us to come in at 6:40. We were seated at a nice round table for 2 at a window for all 28days. The most fantastic waite staff we've ever had. The 6:40 time gave the 5:00 folks time to eat and then reset the table. Dining room was fairly empty during the time we showed. There were a lot of large group tables finishing up but not too many small tables still eating, they were gone.
  18. We thought about it and booked 10day Queensland B2B w/30day NZ/South Pacific to Vancouver. We start March 31st. Biggest bummer is we don't do Fiordland best payoff is only 1 LONG leg to Syd.
  19. I had only the symptoms of a Bronchial Infection. My wife however had all the symptoms of RSV a few days after we got home.
  20. Ours was a 28day 7 port cruise where it sounded like barking seals were brought aboard right after we left Hawaii. Perhaps if people who had contracted a cold or something worse had masked up in consideration of others the sickness might have not spread so much. After Hawaii we had at least 9 medical evacs in ports and at least 1 death and possibly more. As we progressed longer into the cruise, more and more were getting sick. The ship felt empty as a lot of concerned or really sick people did stay in their cabins and lay low. The medical dept was only taking people with "life threatening" cases and ran out of meds to give out. I'm glad I'm healthy and active and it only hit me 2 days from the end of the cruise. Got off Friday, was at Urgent care 2 hrs later and 2 weeks later was back flying and working out. The cough was a ***** and still lingers. I hope others did as well. Won't stop us, next 2 cruises are 25 and 40 days long. We carry are own meds and try as best as we can to stay safe and avoid the coughing crowds, almost worked. Masks are here to stay for a reason. Have fun, but if you feel at the least bit unwell, mask up and help stop the spread in a closed society at sea. Aloha
  21. I think Covid would have been better then the Bronchial Infection going around the Crown when we were on.
  22. We were on the Crown for 28 days in March/April. Ship was in very good condition. There was an occasional elevator out of service, here and there. We did have a leaking prop shaft that caused us to drift for about 45-1hr, everything was operable during that time. We arrived at all ports on time, 14hrs ahead of schedule for a medical into Papeete. Our mattress was the worst I've ever had on a ship, and the sofa cushions were a little old. The propulsion problems have been taken care of and we never experienced the toilet problems that were reported. The buffet food wasn't very good, but the dining room food was good. I never saw the Carib Cafe open but someone else said it was open for some sort of desert special thing.
  23. I had the seabass and my wife had a fillet. Took a bite of her fillet hit something, gissle? and broke a tooth. Root canal yesterday.
