  1. I don't need an actuary to tell me I'll be in Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills and will miss the cruise and the eclipse. 🙂
  2. Thanks for the laugh. The only thing that's consistent is inconsistency. Panorama no problem, Magic big problem both within 60 days.
  3. You covered my situation completely and I can't thank you enough. 🙂
  4. Booked a guarantee cabin today for January 30th. When will I receive the assigned cabin information, will it be the online check in date or possibly sooner? Thanks!
  5. I disagree and we sailed Carnival when Ted, and to a lesser extent his wife Lin Arison, were on top @ Carnival. The people we see removing tips are those who are newbs to cruising. I spoke with a family on the Panorama in April who were on their first cruise. They were quite surprised to learn the servers and cabin stewards don't earn a minimum wage and depend on the charged gratuities to earn their living. I think ignorance has a part to play about cruise culture and most old fogies have the wisdom to know to at least pay the suggested gratuities.
  6. True. When I'm walking to/from our cabin and see a server with a trolley stacked with plates filled with cookies from the casino to their gambling guests I think: those cookies wind up costing the gamblers $10 per cookie. That's the way the cookie crumbles on Carnival.
  7. Be careful what you wish for. When Carnival has to start paying U.S. corporate payroll taxes our base fares will increase to cover it and MORE.
  8. Thursday night on Panorama is carved whole roasted turkey night at the Lido buffet. This hasn't varied over our 9 sailings in 13 months aboard Panorama. But yes, there are no published buffet dinner menus online that I have seen.
  9. The Lido Marketplace is not the location for the Java Cafe on Panorama, Miracle or Radiance that I am personally aware of.
  10. Turn down service and cabin cleaning are not interchangeable terms. Carnival stopped turn down service before the covid shutdown. Carnival still cleans the cabins once a day which includes vacuuming. Turn down service does not include vacuuming so the cabins are being cleaned once a day and no longer receive evening turn down service.
  11. Then she must be at sea on a Carnival cruise. 😉
  12. Our PVP always has another PVP return our calls when they are absent and that person books our business or is available to answer questions about new or old business. Two things I can suggest: Book it yourself now and don't lose out on the promotion and consider another PVP who has someone cover for their absences and vacations.
  13. Yes, there is. It's located across from Guest Services forward on Deck 3 next to the shore excursions desk.
  14. Horizon and Panorama are sister ships and both serve the excellent gelato so there's a good chance you will see Funfetti cake on your embarkation day.
  15. Miracle has 4 private showers in both the ladies and men's locker rooms with a small changing bench and a shower with both waterfall and 3 adjustable spray nozzles located on the walls of the shower. This is by far the best shower on Carnival that is included in the cost of your cruise fare.
  16. Emeril uses a variety of beans in his recipes which is where the Lagasse comes from.
  17. You may want to familiarize yourself with deck plans of the Paradise. She is one of the oldest ships in the Carnival Fleet.
  18. Does the airline have your TSA issued KTN on file?
  19. 3 years ago when Carnival dropped network news from their line up they explained that it was because the new satellite contracts called for Carnival to be charged for each available cabin on its ships fleet wide. The contract they were unable to renew charged per ship. The switch to charging per cabin increased their bill astronomically. To be fair, I wouldn't want to pay that increase either. And for those who will say " and you believed Carnival?" or similar, I cut the cord on cable 8 years ago due to cost so I think Carnival's explanation is entirely credible.
  20. I don't choose hotels in Vegas based on their TV channel line up but I want there to be one in the room should I choose to watch something on the TV.
  21. I mentioned this earlier but it deserves repeating for the OP. There is a good chance you will be told by the room service department they no longer take pre-orders the evening before for next day deliveries. This happened to us twice shortly after the discontinuation of the door hanger menus. Procedures can and do change of course so as I mentioned originally YMMV. We were told no on Panorama and Magic and daughter was told no on Radiance.
  22. Sailing the 14th - 21st, former Seattleite from Ravenna. This will be my 10th Panorama sailing and have never done a b2b.
  23. Some ships do. As above, Panorama does and I can add Radiance did not.
