  1. Sometimes the minimum bid goes down. However, I would suggest that you consider just moving to a guarantee balcony. Might actually be more cost effective depending upon the sailing. Good luck.
  2. My DH doesn't eat seafood and we always tell the waiter and never have a problem. Enjoy A fun experience!
  3. I tthink that Celebrity will continue on its endeavor of huge profits. They will encourage all to book specialty restaurants. I would guess in a few more years to continue this upward trend, non suite passengers will have buffet dining only, and specialty restaurants rates will continue to climb. Suite fares will also continue to climb. Since the pandemic has ended, so many people are cruising and will continue to cruise regardless of the revised menus, and it appears the cost of the cruise. We love cruising, but now are mixing with top of the line all inclusive resorts which actually are cheaper.
  4. For lunch the Lawn club grill. Dinner at Murano's as it is very elegant and special. Nice for a special celebration.
  5. But you are paying about $20 more lunch v. dinner. So at dinner you have much different options- lamb chops and steak for example. You can get "free" burgers at the grill. Of course not the same, but for me ok.
  6. The Lawn Club Grill is our favorite restaurant. Dinner is much better then lunch and you should try it. Tuscan has the best view but food isn't great IMO. Murano worth trying.
  7. We have been on the Silhouette and Reflection multiple times. We sail in a suite and have refillable bath gels, soap and conditioner in bathroom. Also we get some toiletries. Bring your own if fussy. We love the ship. Our favorite restaurant is the lawn club grill. But we do Murano and Tuscan also. You should try le petite chef once also. Best to take a package. We do not like sushi so that for us is a pass. Service on the ship previously has been great. We will be sailing on her in January, so hope all continues to be excellent. If you can swing it, a suite is great-even try move up. The experience in Michaels club (retreat) excellent, so are the other perks. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. Yes. And all of the port stops. Of course all poised pictures including boarding. It was an evening activity going from photographer to photographer. Many years ago we got hard copies, but it took up all of the room in my carry-on! LOL In addition, as long as a person from the stateroom who purchased the package was in a picture, they all were included in the package. Never had any issues. Last time I purchased any package was about 1 1/2 years ago.
  9. We typically purchase the unlimited photo package. Now might have modified to a certain amount. We get pics on a website from Royal. Typically when we arrive home we are emailed the access codes. We download the pics and make a home album from an outside vendor. We decided which pics we want to include in the album. When it was unlimited, a great bargain. Still a good bargain if you want to purchase more then a handful of pictures. Wonderful memories.
  10. Wow! On it for free when the Quantum class first came out. The line was horrible- IMO not worth it! However if "free" and no line- why not?
  11. Chops 150 Central Park Izumi Hibachi Jamies Ok- but if you really are used to great Italian food- it is more like the Olive Garden.
  12. NCL has tiny cabins for solo cruisers, but a shared "living room" Some singles enjoy that. But IMO Royal has so much more to offer I would choose that line. The Horrible pool crowding on NCL is very bad unless you are in the Haven on a newer ship. But everyone has their priorities. Enjoy your cruise
  13. That really wasn’t fair to you. They should have opened up a specialty restaurant as compensation. That surely should also be for suite guests if luminae was closed for embarkation lunch
  14. I remember when smoking was banned in Restaurants and clubs. People initially were horrified that business would decrease. However that didn't happen and perhaps the healthier environment benefits staff and patrons.
  15. Again not how I remember it. I certainly wouldn’t substitute a lunch in a specialty restaurant. The menu different and typically costs much less. If things have changed will if we want pay for lunches
  16. Never had a problem. Will advise in January after my cruise. I expect no change. Just had the unlimited package on the apex in march and it included all dinners and lunch. Sky suite
  17. Ships sail full. Cannot get a decent cabin if you wait. Specialty restaurants really booked up. Prices have risen sharply. By observation
  18. Not all special restaurants open daily for lunch
  19. Yes lunch included- Perhaps you cannot read the fine print. Under the heading Highlights. Have had it previously, familiar with how it works- IMO worth it.
  20. We went on a cruise to alaska in August many years ago. It was wonderful. Actually very warm except when we went to the glaciers. Wore light spring clothes. I purchased winter gear from a sporting goods store, never used it! I want to go again as because of global warming the glaciers are now much smaller then before. Many interesting excursions . You should go.
  21. The non smoking ban in the Casino's hasn't hurt celebrity, royals sister cruise line. It will not hurt Royal either. I feel sorry for the staff that has to work in the Casino. The smoke moves all over the ship and on the other side of the Casino- We don't go in the Casino and perhaps would if no smoking was the rule.
  22. Never stayed in that cabin, however typically those areas are a steward work/staircase and storage area. We move away from them because of possible noise from early or late room service.
