  1. Off topic..I guess Celebrity under the tutelage of Royal C.... has come up with many cutbacks on its own..no need to extract more ideas from the " victims". How about ideas to bring X back up to its previous high standards? Starting with mdr dining... full menus, full service and a decent res system...? Room service at no cost during reg restaurant hrs? Full buffet for lunch and dinner..staff to serve and cook special items?
  2. Sounds like X is back to game birds again...we have lots of them in our backyard..to observe not consume...
  3. Great thread..great idea! . This is our fav tea.we use it at home..a bit of an indulgence! We disliked Luminae on BEYOND ( mostly the menu, preparation and presentation) but it seems you are having a better experience on your cruise. Would like to see the buffet.lunch and dinner.. Are the offerings limited? Empty serving stations? Grill choices?
  4. so if we get to the Mast grill early we could get burgers and fries and then round things out at the buffet..only when we need a break from mdr or BLU
  5. suggest you contact Special Needs dept and let maitre ds know ahead.. they will customize and work with you to plan
  6. btw..enjoy all the eggs you can get on your cruise prices are going up up up..
  7. great pics.. I see Cafe Baccio has my fav teas the little triangles..Tea Forte!
  8. as always quite informative..thank you ***off topic...do you have any opinion about the disturbing reports of Creaky Cabins on Edge and Beyond?
  9. i liked the Prime Rib abd looked forward to it more than the lobster even when it was served and taken out of the shell tableside....A large nice cut of Prime Rib was always served... We have also enjoyed Beef Wellington and good quality steak as a treat. We limit beef intake for the most part..... I mostly prefer fish if well prepared. but never Tilapia.. folks can google pros and cons. Most expensive fish lately is scallops.. Our favorite is Flounder stuffed with crab meat and I enjoy salmon if fresh caught. some of the menus are not looking impressive.. no veal, no pork ??? dining planners & chefs will need to be more creative! maybe offer an International dish each night..Indian, Greek , Spanish..Italisn ( not just pasta) we won't starve but not sure we will rave about X cuisine...
  10. glad you had a great sailaway under the bridge...looks so.pretty! if you go to the breakfast buffet, let us know if they still have lox, bagels, omelettes made to order, eggs benedict, waffles and the usual breakfast meats like bacon, sausage and ham. it's not all about the food but the breakfast buffet is a great option on port days!
  11. very nice for my beef loving dh! Connie was one of our favs..Sailed on here up to Canada and in the Carib...but it's been quite awhile. do you think you will try rhe Spa?
  12. our winter home is an easy drive to Tampa..Def on our to do list is a cruise, hopefully if Connie gets updated. And we could be fog free! we would plan a pre cruise stay... the hotel looked great, & we would love to explore Ybor city, the Aquarium Riverwalk and Tampa Zoo ( my grandson's favorite!)
  13. great review.. very much enjoyed the photos... ship is aging but seemed workable. Your itin included some of our fav stops esp Martinique where we did a historic walking tour with a great guide and shopping & lunch on our own.. We enjoyed similar excursions on St Lucia to the Pitons/ lunch etc. travel on water better than the winding mountain roads...eek! We will be careful with St Kitts on our next cruise..We booked an excursion to Nevis thst includes lunch..have to re read the specs! thanks for the heads up! thanks again for sharing
  14. buffet would be okay fo me..I like big salads for lunch..and the veggies looked very nice.. my husb would miss a meat carving sta but would survive any soups for lunch?
  15. Bon Voyage! Hope you are able to sail out fog free.. Recent issue down here in..hopefully not this time around!
  16. and maybe some plastic food containers...
  17. spa treatments, jewelry, handbags, salon, liquor store, cosmetics store, wine, flowers. photo products pvt ships excursions..... special dining events??
  18. kudos to those who get a good price we enjoyed our Sky Suite on BEYOND..not crazy abt Luminae but overall a great experience.. ww finally used up all our FCCs.. Luckily our suite did not Creak! we are headed back to AQ Class on Ascent
  19. expect lots of spilled food in halls and elevators.. and hot coffee carried too! we will also stockpile juices , snacks & other items..just in case hunger strikes! Glamping..Celebrity Style
  20. hi Jim When did you last stay at ES? We were there in Nov..after a few stays elsewhere. It is still a great location fir everything and same .good service and breakfast buffet. BUT it is very much showing its age. The furniture in our rm was very sad but the mattress was ok. Lots of dust all around.. We were told they would get a full refurb next yr, no date was given. We are looking for something diff in same area for next Jan. if you find a better price elsewhere..might be worth a try?? Hotel where Charla stayed looks great and is in a very good area..but we need Ft Laderdale!
  21. We thought it was excellent. you learn alot ..small group..use of headphones so you can hear you meet staff and officers...see many interesting areas.. There is quite a bit of walking and stsirs but they work out elev for those who can't do it all.. books up quickly!
  22. will X really leave these buffet spaces like ghost towns at night? eventually they will re group or re invent ...Maybe make it a casual (shorts allowed) limited mdr type of served meal venue.? Years ago, for a small fee , you could book a sit down dinner in a portion of the buffet and be served great meal by " trainees". i think we did this on Infinity...only neg was unsupervised children climbing all over,! sometimes folks just need a break from mdr etc
  23. I agree..we already booked ascent..Aq class I V for next year, so hopefully all will be okay
  24. Has anyone brought this up at Q and A sessions or social events with hotel or engineering staff? Is there a fix ? We have to save up for cruising nowadays due to rising costs. It would be a shame to do that only to be stuck with a creaking cabin.. Cutbacks and extra charges can be worked around but the creakers ....that would ruin a cruise.esp if there are no places to move to..
