Great review of the OSJ Culinary excursion..thank you. I agree we would have to pass on this one..despite the good food, drink and guide. Over the years we have walked many miles up and down those hilly cobblestone streets...plus the forts etc. And have also donned rain ponchos... We are still avid walkers and bike riders, but now prefer more level pathways. Fear of falling...just not worth it!..

Please accept my deepest sympathy to you and your parents on the loss of your beloved pet!

I am so lo tech that I hardly follow most of the above posts.. But I have not had any issues with basic ship's wifi ( E Class) and my new Android cell phone and my ancient Tablet..Lucky I guess!

The Bistro would be a very good choice. The Buffet on ASCENT, on Sailaway day was not very good and was really crowded.. Only thing tasty were the gluten free desserts. I am not a gluten free eater but found the gf offerings looked better! The Buffet was a very bad start. We learned it was also bad for bkfst..cold food and some nasty staff, including the bagel ogre! All other dining on ASCENT was excellent and we enjoyed our cruise.

A later post on same thread described a word game on the same ship...involving sex body parts..but said it was stupid! Years ago some of the regular Cirque shows had sexually suggestive and mysoginistic ( spell?) skits.. I hated the one where the male fake slaps the female & pulls her quite roughly by her hair. Happy that Sexist stuff like that is no longer acceoptable entertainment.! Maybe the sex oriented games should be left for frat boy, bachelor or bachelorette parties? Or the known edgier cruise lines! Ship should mark X rated so folks can avoid!

good reminder.. The few times we have cancelled, we cancelled any pre paid booked excursions, dining and spa, first on our credit card so those credits go back right away ..Then we called to cancel the cruise so they e mail the conf right away!

We do not plan to return to BEYOND, although we did not have noise issues in our Sky Suite. We did have a pushy butler but guess that changed after we cruised.. ASCENT in AQ class was amazing! Hope the banging noise issues do not develop on her.

We sat "No" to an X adult only ship.. OP can just cruise at times when it's not school break or pick longer itins. Agree that some new itins fir smaller/older ships should be added..even in the Carib. Other lines are available to fill the Adult only niche OP seeks! And who knows what they'd be like?Just read a recent post about an " adult" show on an X ship described as " vulgar"..Not our style.

two interesting posts.. from Cao n D and Nuts abt golf...thank you we did hear that one of the creakier ships might stay on Carib itins to avoid rougher seas and going back and forth across the Atlantic We have been lucky so far..Hoping APEX will be quiet for our next E Class cruise.

There will be many children on board any ship over Xmas holiday so maybe less relaxing.and more crowded. E Class ships have much more to do and an excellent spa. Try AQ Class with BLU ...and Thermal suite included. Fewer children in BLU

We never had a set vac planner and have managed quite well over the years..Our calls are answered promptly, and issues or concerns are resolved by whoever takes the call..Never wanted to have to wait for a specific agent. Guess we've been lucky.! OP may want to start working with a pvt travel agent if individualized service is needed. We have been considering this, esp for more complicated trips...and extra perks.

Hard to imagine this issue is not addressed head on by mgmnt at Q and A sessions or even by Captains on Board the affected ships.,..Design or assembly flaws... ? Maybe they need to take portions of the ship apart and put it back together if this is possible...Wonder if ships have warranties? Or if claims have been filed by the cruise line against who they believe is at fault .....?

hate theads where 2 or more parties get into a bickering match. waste of everyone's time!

Would love to see a photo of a hammock set up on an E Class or other X Balcony, esp aft.....but proceed at your own risk!

I am looking forward to your post about the Old San Juan Culinary tour.. Aside from the food and bevs, is there alot of walking involved? OSJ can be hilly with cobblestones and don't want to risk stumbling!

thanks for confirming that we have a good plan.. Does Apex have a World Class Bar? or anything unuque compared to EDGE?

i am going to take a quick look at what's available..maybe something with New Orleans as a port ( non Mardi Gras) and with working A/C and toilets. We do not trvl with kiddos and are not interested in Universal..or Disney..maybe the Flower Show at EPCOT. TAMPA ZOO and Aquarium are very well known.. and enjoyed by many!

oh.. not good for us! we are on W coast Fl so its a shorter drive than other Fl Ports....we would still go a day or two ahead Tampa has so much to offer. .Zoo, Busch Gardens, Aquarium, Riverwalk, dining..etc We do anything to avoid driving across on I 4...
