  1. Amazing Job with Easter festivities, decor and desserts. All look lovely and tasty. Easter is one holiday we won't cruise on. We made a date error once, and hit an Easter cruise out of Miami on Royal C.. It was very crowded with large family groups, and many unsupervised, poorly behaved children and teens. Oblivious parents/ guardians added to the problem.. Security could not keep up with the antics, destruction, and gen mayhem! Never again on school holidays, esp from that port!
  2. One of the reasons we booked an SV on Apex was lack of view in BLU.... On EDGE there was no view..curtains were kept closed. ASCENT in Jan. was our best BLU experience so far..but there is NO outdoor seating as advertised. Tables are out there but not part of BLU.
  3. Finally got the video to play..very nice .. I have a new tablet so probably my error. I did not spot a mistake but sure someone will. This journey has many exotic ports..Looking forward to following along..
  4. charms are tiny..they go into the locket.. waiting to give to a neighbors dtr!..
  5. Just go 20 min early and you should find seats. We booked Prime Concierge on Apex..it was abt location not perks.. but we will try for the sailaway lunch and hope for daily canapes???
  6. Still following this great review..learning so much, nixe details, and love the photos... I have looked at the Hobbit pics a few times with my husb..he knows so much..more than I care to but it was fun.. thanks again for posting them.!
  7. Based upon your overall review, we are not rushing to book Connie out of Tampa..too spoiled by newer ships. But might look for Cartagena on another itin.. In contrast to your views, we've had great luck in Port Ev with porters post cruise..They get all your stuff, get the shortest lines and put you quickly into a taxi if you need one.. In your case we would've bagged the hotel shuttle and grabbed a cab..esp with your mom and the rainm In Jan for ASCENT, we were parked in the garage & overloaded with bags and carry-ons. Porter took it all up into the garage & even loaded it all into our car! He was the best! Thanks for a great review!
  8. fabulous..will ve a big hit with my husb..but he knows the trip is too far away for us..esp me..
  9. sad to say much of what is offered complimentary at the gym is a come on to buy more! And they have attitude if you don't! Had that with a small classroom health lecture..It started out interesting but then came the big push to buy expensive recurring monthly seawood/ kelp? pills. Most everyone got up to leave and the 2 sales ladies started yelling at how WE wasted their time. Now we just avoid these scams .
  10. Guess my husb and I am not the only non- fans of Lavazza Coffee. I just stick with tea.. For my tastebuds, LaV just has a bitterness that can't be overcome. Also not fans of Luminae..we prefer BLU food and style!
  11. really enjoyed your photos of Napier and your excursion..Did you get to taste the honey? sorry bad weather..
  12. thanks.. forgot how much I like that one! will note for next time!
  13. Some love PB. some are obsessed.. huge sport these days. Others find it tolerable unless intrusive with noise. plink plink at our Fl Community, the pickle ballers wanted lines painted on the tennis courts so they could use them too..wow WW3 broke out! tennis players won! We stay neutral... I bike and walk alot with my husband, (not in a group) and love the pool.. esp water aerobics. On ASCENT , I met some gals who taught water aerobics in Fl.. enjoyed working out and walking with them in the Solarium pool..We were not noisemakers!
  14. Both seem nice but off road would be fun.. it will be VERY hotcand bumpy.. will need hat, sunscreen sunglasses and big jug of water .lighthouse is a touristy stop.. photo op let us know what you pick and how it was in person!
  15. We refer to it as PLINK PLINK PLINK..It took over the lawn area on ASCENT for several hrs.. annoying but was popular. E ships were not designed with sports courts..big mistake...cruisers are more active these days.. Summit has a space but sound will def tracel! .At our place in Fl they made new cts further away from main areas..Noise was too annoying for residents and sitting at the pools ..Tennis sound is not as jarring to most.
  16. Bon Voyage..Hope you have a great time! Glad your secret surprise worked.. Looking forward to your blog!
  17. We dine early.. table for 2 by the window...hope same team each night. Hopefully not an issue. We do not think E Class mdrs are suited for buzzers or line ups along the hallway Sometimes the desk person remembers us from past cruises...and do their best to assist. Not spending worry time on this. Just hoping for EDEN res on my birthday!
  18. off road sounds like more fun..esp on ARUBA! What are the places you would see on the local experience tour, ? ..Could be .more touristy than active!
  19. only applies if no package. if package no chit
  20. Based on this post, we are going to try for APEX next January in one or two fav restaurants...the smaller ones. We wanted to book specialty dinng first (Eden for my b- day), but so far they only show dining packages..not looking for that . We previously had good luck pre booking( although tedious doing one night at a time), but now it seems some E ships do and some don't honor the res made... Some procedural consistency would be helpful!
  21. wow! Great photos..thanks What beautiful birds and spectacular ferns and other plants..Looks well taken care of. I'd like to visit there on a future cruise.
