I will be following....have not been to Cartagena. Aruba and Curacao will be fun. We don't cruise in suites but we were in one on BEYOND..before the changes. disliked Luminae.. Bon Voyage!

A bit off topic. sorry. Observation: we were berthed on Ascent next to an MSC ship in St Kitts..odd looking vessel. The passengers seemed to be large family groups..compared to couples, small groups, singles and many fewer kids on X.. We'll stick with X ..had a great cruise. Not a big fan of the Retreat but MSC ships are way too huge for us

By they way...for those taking the tour soon, in first post you can see the walkway from the ship..right turn..port all the way right and then back again to the other vessel

Arrival at the pier.. WELCOME TO NEVIS! short bathroom stop..very clean! Our happy bus! And we meet KENO, our wonderdful guide! We are off and running on a great tour!

Oh no Do not cancel...just be prepared! Once on NEVIS it was outstanding!! Our beach time was long but I only walked down there & did not swim. I shopped, took pics, Husb had a cigar at the great restaurant. colors are not enhanced..just nature on my phone!

Sorry this part will be wordy and cranky..but you may see why! For several days, the Celebrity Today warned that there would be a 10 min long walk (in their opinion) to the Port area. It was a puzzle to us until we arrived.. On all prior visits we walked straight from the dock into the Port area. This time, there were 2 docks and of course the Royal C ship had the better one. We were docked with a large MSC ship and with no trams in sight we took that long walk..making a right turn to another long walk to the Port welcome area. After we were assembled, our Shore Exursion rep then led us all the way back from whence we came..past a nice tented area where we could have gathered. "Strike 1" as we say in baseball. Next, our Celebrity rep led us on another big walk, and left us where MOST of us boarded a small ferry type vessel. Uh oh...NOT ENOUGH SEATS..over capacity! "Strike 2"... So we disembarked and stood in line in the hot sun for a very long time....Vessel One left and eventually a larger replacement arrived..No one from Shore Ex was there with us so we just stood.. From there all went well with the ferry. Drinks, soda, water..helpful crew, calm seas. We were off on an amazing ride. "Strike 3" came when we returned.. we were dumped off with no Celeb Shorex greeter or instruction on how to get directly back to the ship. Had to go on a long wal back through the port..no shuttles...so then the right turn...long walk and then left turn..long walk to the ship. Ok rant over..but I will be copying this over to Cap Club and Shorex in hope they can do a MUCH BETTER job beyond selling tickets. so now..the real review is coming!

St Kitts / Nevis. We have been to St Kitts many times and decided to do something different. That was a very good idea as it was one of the best days of this cruise..Highly rec. this trip! We pre booked with Celebrity: " A DAY TRIP TO NEVIS WITH LUNCH...". The official description includes a long list of places to see and various stops . We hit most of them but each guide has latitude to customize and our guide KENO did a great job! But first, we had to get from the ship to NEVIS.. and we did not get off to a great start....see Trout62 post # 191

Ti us it's a small sunroom or mini wintergarden style area but we have come to enjoy it! Word " balcony" should be dropped. For our next cruise we booked a real balc again..so we can compare. After that we will be back to an SV ..worried about ash on the big balc..

yup.. that was the bad start. Then all was forgiven once we got going.... but same long route back to the ship! Excursion Dept could do much better on both ends! I will post pics and excursion summary later today. It was a highlight of our cruise!

we just had a great cruise on ASCENT..AQ class. BLU & Specialty dining were outstanding . We enjoyed BEYOND in a lower suite before the changes..but disliked Luminae ..It was just okay..We left for specialty dining and BLU . There was nothing special at all in the RETREAT lounge..it could be so much more! Outside pool area was very good on port days, otherwisw crowded but we did have excellent service.

This was the other dress I liked.. I like the chic nights..no heavy gowns or tuxes, but most everyone dresses up a bit! I can't compete with Charla who sets a high style mark!

We have mostly been on E Class.. AQ Class IV or SV cabin. There are soooo many hangers in the closet..Never needed extra but have taken some out to avoid clacking spound. Lots of cubbys with shelves and drawers..We do not travel light! Had a suite on BEYOND. Huge Closet space. We have a double neoprene wine btl carrier..slip on top of carryon and then hand it through as you are screened. Most attendants have fridge emptied ahead of time... no worries!

not sure you can learn ahead on one E class cruise we had a football insider as a speaker..he was swamped day and night..we were polite but had no.interest in that sport..

btw..ASCENT had piano bar in EDEN.. They are upping their offerings on E Class..

Good Choice! and maybe book 1 or 2 specialty rest to break things up! For early excursions if you go to the buffet you can get waffles!

may also depend on the ship..as well. Our next E class cruise will be on APEX.. does anyone have a fav on her?
