  1. And there are more coming in the future around the number 40.. Also crossing into Brooklyn that was known for 4 story buildings till approval was given.
  2. Much less in PG. We felt comfortable with Covid. 14 days and some tables were not used meaning space away from others. Each sailing is unique. I will still with all the amenities in QG restaurant not care to be upgrade to there after enjoying all PG offers.
  3. BC dining vs Britannia is divided by a Wall Partion on QM2...
  4. On our sailing on QM2 dining room assignment didn't matter which side Deck 12 vs Deck 13 on our sailing.
  5. PG had plenty space over QG. The way it's designed. I was surprised with QG and it's space. All Flambes were quite quite close to passenger tables. They were careful in the positioning for the smoke detectors also. But passengers got to see their dishes prepped.
  6. WOW....what a common question on this booking day...... First I would like to Welcome to Cunard as a Cunarder. My experience is unfortunately on the QM2 but in the Grills they should be the same procedure. We to request a table for 2 at booking and fortunately are alway placed at a Table for 2 without any difficulty. In the Grills the table is assigned for your entire sailing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Location of the table should be indicated on a card found in your cabin at embarkation. If you have a question about the location of the table, you can talk to the M'd at your first dinner seating. You can also question it if you attend your lunch on embarkation around 1PM. They may help you with your request. M'd's wish to make your experience while sailing a memorable trip. There are two style speciality restaurants. On the QM2, not sure on your ship, Evening Speciality serving in the Kings Court and Verandah Restaurant which is a steak type house if the same. There should be a phone number that will direct you to call to secure your needs. Dress on board depends the number of days you are sailing. On a TA 7 days there is typical 2 Gala Theme evenings. Otherwise the alternate dress is know as Smart Attire. If you look at your Your Voyager Personalizer with your Booking Number under My Calendar, each day should give you an idea of the Dress Code for each day. I know others may have additional suggestions. Welcome "Newbie" Cunarder and future Bon Voyage!
  7. Honestly, since we started to book BC we have been very happy with the service and experience of a Pre Grill Experience. Once you do experience it a gift of a Upgrade would be a treat. But we are this coming cruise in 6 months will be BC and looking forward. Even our friend who is trying QM2 for the first time will be with us in BC. I can't see us ever returning to Britannia Grade.. I can tell you are as excited as us were to board.
  8. On these smaller ships the space maybe a premium. On our last sailing in PG on the QM2 the Flambe Tables were at Dinner Time flying around the dining room. Each night for 14 days like Planes Landing at JFK or Express Buses on 5th Avenue in NYC as well as the Cheese Trolley... There was no fear to mention Flambe to the M'd's..... "And They Were Off" like at a Race Track...
  9. Though our sailing history is quite extensive...we were happy this past sailing to have the "Upgrade Fairy" up us to Princess.... this has happened several times before but not guar......all the time.
  10. Was in the Princess on the QM2 and enjoyed those Flambe's dishes especially prepared tableside.
  11. BTW.... I don't know the layout of the tables on the new QA but they will need room for the Flambe Tables to move around. You do want to leave room for those Flambe dishes being served.
  12. We always get a table for 2 as requested at booking. Location is the question and you'll take care of that on board. M'd's are there to make sure you will have a memorable experience on your trip. You are right about the booking date and allocation. We have always been told that earlier bookings do help to placement. I found this with our last sailing. Loyalty and History does help we've experienced also. Tables at windows are interesting in assignment. I know on the QM2, there are two sides for Club Restaurants. One is the original and very large and different table placements and the other that belong to Britannia Restaurant and has tables in row So you will see when you once on board. You'll get to see it personally.
  13. In September on the QM2 we had a card but no table number assigned. Assigned when in the restaurant.
  14. If you don't mind me to go off subject a bit....but we booked Britannia Club on the Queen Mary 2 several times as well other restaurants over our sailing history. Our experiences are....when you arrive for your first meal most likely dinner on embarkation night, you will be shown a table assigned by the M'd. This would be the table you would use for the duration of the cruise. If you have any difficulty with it you can speak to the M'd and see if he can accommodate you with a change of table location to your needs. Hopefully it can occur that evening. You can also on boarding attempt to see if anyone is around the Club Dining Room and see if they can assist you.
  15. Yes, several days ago..... We booked the QM2 4th of July 2023 NE/CAN......even introducing a friend to the QM2 first time
  16. One of the Ports of Call we always looked forward to visiting... The people in the town are very friendly and accommodating. Hoping something can be worked out...
  17. Hello Starstrickharper, 1- We have handed personally extra gratitudes to those staff members that have displayed recognized exemplary service. The below rates are calculated and added into the passenger cabin's on board account on a daily basis. Beverage Service also adds a 15% gratitude to your bar service. 2- How much are the gratuities on Cunard? In 2022, Cunard’s daily gratuities are $11.50 per person, per night for guests staying in Britannia Staterooms and $13.50 per person, per night for guests staying in Grill Suites. The charge is the same for adults and children. 3- OBC can not be cashed out at the end of the sailing. Best to use it during the sailing ex. laundry.... Also any winnings in the Casino added to the On Board Account must be cashed out by the evening before disembarkation.

  19. On the QM2 we had it in the PG Cabin....
  20. Hi LibertyBella, Are you trying to tell me something earlier.....ha ha ha ? ? ? (Our 4th July sailing) We don't let it totally ruin our total sailing. Only know it's really in the Qx Rm more than the G32 Disco. I don't think they even do this during Tea in the Queens because most of the ship attack that area early on and Tea dance is only once a sailing. It a shame that other rooms on board aren't avail to dance. Pub and Chart is really only leisure listening.
  21. ballroom-cruisers, To go off topic for a bit, this subject also reminds me of the Sundeck and Pool Deck "chair cheaters" when on a warm weather and Caribbean cruise. Seeing passengers putting books, towels and personal goods on the lounges and going to breakfast or lunch and leaving stuff behind. And then coming back. Other passengers could have used those loungers for that time. I know some other lines will after certain amount of time remove the items and storage them for the owners to return to pick them up. Can't do that in the Qx Rm dancers. The plain matter is courtesy to fellow passengers. But during the day I just thought the to subjects were close to each other in a matter of speaking.
  22. Dear Ball-Cruiser, First Respectfully, you do have my sympathy of what you experienced and it is not right. Sounds like My DW and I would be interested in watching you with you partner dance and even speak with you. As I am a traditional normal dancer enjoying slow dancing with my DW of 46 years, it's important to get away on a trip especially on the QM2 have that personal time to enjoy. I really don't understand why the staff don't address this. How many other passengers feel like this. Sailing with Cunard since 1987, we never experienced this on our love, Queen Elizabeth's 2 Ball Room either in the Queen Room or Theater before the Evening Show. What times we enjoyed. Can the staff set rules over the evenings for fairness for all passengers use. I forgot what year we first noticed this. Think is was around 2017. I don't think it was in 2013 when on board. I do hope this problem can be corrected in the future. I will try to remember to see if I can address this with the Entertainment Director in July just to see what he/she would say. Till then enjoy you talent. I was once a Professional Ethnic Folk Dancer and know how rewarding dancing can be.
