  1. For some unknown reason (ignorance and laziness I expect), Princess does not allow P.O. box to be used even though they are mailing a small envelope via USPS these days which does deliver to P.O. boxes. Is your address a P.O. box by chance? Any way to use a street address? Have you called to ask why?
  2. You are over-thinking and over-worrying. If you have a ground transportation plan from port to airport, you are fine for domestic flying. Do you have TSA Pre? Princess' earliest departing flight times are so conservative, it is often ridiculous, save some sort of serious disaster situation. If you were to pretend to book EzAir, you would find that Princess doesn't allow a departure booking prior to 1:30pm.
  3. Both. If you are not going to use your reservation, be thoughtful and cancel it so they aren't expecting you and holding table space.
  4. Nope, but you can try some other phone tree options presented. In your case, there won't be any other useful option, however. Just call again and hope to get someone intelligent. PS - Maybe smiley-face JP should try calling his own phone support center and see how he gets along.
  5. That would not stand with me. No way. As soon as I saw what was happening, I would ask the waiter to not do that to our table. A word with the section Head Waiter should resolve if necessary. That is just being lazy on waiter's part and it is fairly rare I think. Sounds like his head was back in the old TD situation. Glad you only had it for one night.
  6. Any table reserved for 5:40pm is going to be sitting waiting for the guests. No way anyone will be seated there at 5pm opening and be done in time to free up the table. You could show up anytime prior to 5:40pm.
  7. Asking nicely has been no problem for years AFAIK. It's like each of you is a 1+. If you are not an early arriver for check-in, it won't matter anyway.
  8. The quickly disappearing Sanctuary loungers are mostly an issue for tropical cruises such as Caribbean sector. There is somewhat less demand in Europe, but sea days are always the most in demand no matter where a ship is sailing. Do you have a friend who will be on board sooner and can book on your behalf? Otherwise, just head up there as soon as you can after boarding. They close up shop between 5pm and 5:30pm. Tipping to get a chair when they are all reserved is not going to help. You cannot email someone who works there to get you a lounger. A guest with a personal friend who works there might be able to make something happen, but that isn't your situation.
  9. The cruise fare packages are described in detail at Princess.com. Figure out what you would spend on the included items (other than beverages) if you booked Standard Fare and were paying for them separately. Next, look at the difference between your spend and the package cost. Compare that to what you expect to pay for beverages and decide if it makes sense to go with package. Also, if you login to Princess.com and go to the Captain's Circle page, you can read all about the included benefits. Nothing has really changed for Platinum benefits since pandemic. There is no need to talk to Princess prior to installing the Princess App. However, delete any of the old Apps remaining on your devices prior to installing the new. Those old apps from 2019 era are irrelevant and most likely won't even work.
  10. I recall another poster starting a similar thread only the time gap was 10 years and not 4-5, but it is still just too much. That said, a lot of the changes since 2019 were pandemic-related and that's all done with now and back to normal. The cruise fare packages and the Princess App are the two biggest changes, short of the new Sun Class ships. OP needs to dig into Princess.com and see what looks unfamiliar and familiar.
  11. Thanks for not posting the link. 😁
  12. Yes, as long as you do not mean prior to Dec 14, 2022, by "a few months ago".
  13. Yes... if you are a guest not on the cruise fare packages (i.e., Standard Fare guest). Same thing for a Plus package guest once used up the two free meals.
  14. It may only appear that you are being charged and your credit card will not be affected. It doesn't matter what your CC Member Level is. Does your profile reflect Platinum in the App? If you are charged, you can recover the shipping charge as Refundable OBC. You can also call Princess and see if someone there can enter the order and not charge you. You will read about various options in the thread on the new App, but these are the main options. You can also try another day and it might work.
  15. Yes, it takes a day or two for the App to show a booking or a booking change.
  16. IMO it will be GREAT if you are on the side of the ship facing the harbor (I think ships tend to head-in at the WI dock. It will be rather MUNDANE for view if your cabin is on the dock side, but maybe you will like the hustle-bustle. BTW, sunset will be at least in the scope of view on the harbor side, but not the land side.
  17. Why not Google this "best weather months to visit Hawaii"? You will find several sources that generally give the same months.
  18. You can recoup prepaid costs if you buy a package on board. I believe you will be charged for the package and receive refunds via Refundable OBC. I am thinking they do not charge a net difference owed.
  19. The PVP could always cancel and re-book on Monday or Tuesday if it was important to do so.
  20. What do you mean by "put in booking #"?. Did you try logging in using Name, Birthdate, Booking Nbr? Did you also try logging in this way to access the booking on Princess.com?
  21. Q1: Yes. Once the FCD expiry date has passed, the FCD is canceled and the cash refunded to the original form of payment (credit card). Q2: Yes. If the FCD expiry date has not passed when you cancel, then the FCD is restored to your profile with the original expiry date. If the expiry date has passed by the time you cancel, then you are refunded the $200 to form of payment.
  22. To clarify, you use 1 FCD per guest as a deposit on a new booking and that earns you an OBC amount that varies in value, increasing by cruise length and cabin category. You can burn more FCD's towards the cost of the cruise, but you earn nothing back, so wouldn't make sense to double-up on a deposit, for example.
  23. VP Sales said last year to pick whichever lane you want. IDK what the official line is now. Obviously a Blue lane attendant can check in a guest with Medallions.
  24. Nothing out of the ordinary (other than the buffet washing stations) than at home. So, nothing special at all. Nothing happened. Not anymore concerned on a ship than elsewhere. I'd be more concerned on an airplane, but nothing special done there either.
