  1. We haven't been on another cruise line, mostly because NCL continues to offer the itineraries we like and because we enjoy the freestyle but if we did go to another it would be Celebrity. We had a friend ( she is no longer with us) who swore by celebrity cruises.
  2. The Spirit is a great ship, we were on it last year from Vancouver, Alaska to Hawaii, yes is a small ship but our stateroom was large ( balcony) and the service was outstanding. It was refreshing to be back on a smaller ship.
  3. proves my point they need to focus in bringing back customers than getting more into debt building new ships. IMO.
  4. they need to stop designing new ships and work on improving customer service, entertainment and giving more incentives to loyal customers. I read they are billions in debt maybe just maybe is because their service is declining. IMO
  5. We got excellent glass of wine in Spain at 3.50 Euro a glass while on the ship they charge 9 dollars, so sometimes it pays to get off the ship and have a drink somewhere else.
  6. but people would not be disappointed that they have the drinking package and they are not getting their drinks in certain ports, i have read so many comments already where people want their gratuities back and NCL is saying NO, with refundable credit is your money and you get it back but again that works for us, we are not drinkers and they always seem to have the drinks we want when we do order.
  7. I agree, on this last trip Cadiz was canceled due to a strike or weather don't remember really LOL i enjoyed the extra sea day. We Went to Ibiza and enjoyed it very much. We ordered the drinks we wanted and we were good 🙂
  8. I stand corrected. We never take the drinking package and if we do order a drink is during a sea day. We buy or get onboard credit and use that for our drinks and miscellaneous. My suggestion to people is, buy refundable onboard credit and use that to buy your drinks, until this situation is completely sorted out.
  9. could it be NCL is not paying their bills? to suppliers? or who knows, I wonder. I did notice on my last cruise they ran out of certain alcohol, they ran out of bottles of wine, certain liquors and i hear from other people that it happened in other ships as well. We were on the Epic. We have done Transatlantics a lot and i don't remember this extra tax in Spain for alcoholic drinks, that's happening as well.
  10. We are on the Epic this coming Saturday and is almost sold out, only availability inside stateroom. New York-Barcelona. Last October our ship the Escape was at 65% capacity.
  11. We completely agree, only once on the Epic Bruno, the Concierge, he help us book dining and entertainment venues, there's no number for latitude members and we are Diamond. Bruno did give us his card.
  12. We already said what we tip, but i should have said it varies depending on how heavy the bag is. I will say this, is a personal thing what people tip, i have said it before tip what your pocket allows, don't go by what people tell you. I get a kick out of threads people freaking out how much extra they should tip on board, whether to remove or lower the daily gratuities at the end of the cruise. Tipping is optional, is your budget and is no ones business. IMO
  13. We are 19 days away and bidding on higher categories, currently on a Balcony. The Epic transatlantic. It currently says only category available is inside everything else sold out, so doubt very much our offers will be considered.
  14. someone told us that NCL has better staterooms than Oceania, they found Balcony stateroom on oceania smaller than NCL.
  15. LOL now you are talking. For once i agree with you. Hell just froze over.
  16. We don't feel we are nickel and dimed. We buy exactly what we need, we don't take the drinking package because we are not big drinkers and when we do drink we buy exactly what we need. We buy on board credit, we use our money wisely there's nothing NCL can do to get us out of our budget. We have never had a bad cruise, yes, some better than others, but for us being away from home, having our meals cooked, enjoying the ship and excursions is all that we need, is better than being at home. IMO. We have only cruise NCL and some people feel we are limiting ourselves, nope, they have the cruises we like, and as long as they do we will continue to cruise with them. FYI in all the years cruising with them we do see some things have changed and not for the better. C'est la vie. Is our money and we use it how we want to.
  17. as long as we can bring our noise maker. I am good :-), that with the movement of the ship i sleep like a baby.
