  1. My Dell 15" would not fit into the safe. I just put it into a drawer so that it would be out of sight and tidy! I agree with @crystalspin, the stewards on not interested in it. They do not want to risk losing their livelihood over a missing laptop, and they probably have a better one themselves.
  2. Benajarafe is a small village on the eastern side of Malaga. Just inland of the village is the main A-7/E-15 'Autovia del Mediterraneo' which runs from Cadiz to Barcelona for almost 1,000kms. There is mountainous countryside around this area and wild boar is often seen.
  3. I think it has all been covered here. Most important is that Amex is not widely accepted. Visa and Mastercard are good. If your card is chip n pin, then I believe that the pin needs to be only a 4 digit number. Since the various lockdowns the use of cash has decreased substantially all over Europe. I have not had a cash transaction in months and months. Cards are used for even the smallest of transactions. Although Turkey and Albania do not use the euro, they are sometimes on an Eastern Med itinerary. Croatia has adopted the euro as its currency from January 1st 2023, so you will be covered there.
  4. Why are they having a 4 week lead time? Why not just change from the next cruise? I would be kinda peed if I was sailing on September 4th!
  5. and now Carnival cruise line! https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/28044-carnival-cruise-line-removes-pre-cruise-testing-for-vaccinated-guests-more-changes-announced.html
  6. I do agree with you, however HAL are sadly lacking in communication skills. We are sailing on Rotterdam on August 28th and have known for several weeks about the changes taking place. Only today have the Ports updated their websites, but as yet no word from HAL. I have pre cruise hotel bookings in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam, but will not cancel until HAL confirms the embarkation port. Giving them the benefit of the doubt about planning being beyond their control, I would expect to hear from them by tomorrow morning. 🤞
  7. You can pre purchase it online. It is listed under 'Manage Booking' > Cruise Activities > Beverages > Water. $2.95 per gallon.
  8. Wine can be taken onboard in reasonable quantity, corkage fee $20 per bottle. Still good value for a half decent bottle of vino. Lido has water and ice available 24/7 and you can refill your own bottle.
  9. You will find the roll calls if you go to the Cruise Critic home page https://boards.cruisecritic.com/ then scroll down to Roll Calls and click on Holland America Roll Calls, then click on Nieuw Amsterdam and look for the date.
  10. There is a Roll Call already. Here is the link:
  11. The ship is listed for Rotterdam departure/arrival on the Rotterdam Port website and has been removed from the Amsterdam Port website for sailings up to 11th September. https://www.cruiseportrotterdam.nl/cruise-calls/ https://sea.cruiseportamsterdam.com/cruise-calendar/
  12. Yes they do. You can buy them on Manage Booking > Cruise Activities > Beverages. $50, $100, $250 value/cost.
  13. For us it would be a no. We upgraded in June on Oosterdam (presume that you are on Oosterdam?) to a Signature Suite for $300 each and it gave us the extra space. We had two sea days and the other days were very port intensive. Oosterdam does not have the separate Club Orange dining room, though there is a fast track entrance to MDR for C.O. and we would not be interested in breakfast in PG. Really just don't see the value in upgrading on an itinerary and ship like this and probably would not do it again.
  14. I can only base the response on the Euro site, and the itinerary is updated, the map is updated but the 'spiel' still mentions St Petersburg. The price is unchanged since I booked on 3rd August. Itinerary change was notified on 9th August. Taxes and fees are still showing the same amount €224.10 pp
  15. No decrease in fare on this side of the Atlantic!
  16. No it does not give access to the Neptune Lounge. Only Neptune Suite pax (and Pinnacle Suite) can use the lounge. Also, although you may have breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill as a Neptune Suite pax, this does not extend to Club Orange pax.
  17. Hello to all. It is hot here today 85°F/29°C We drove down to Cobh for lunch and there was the Amsterdam. Well, they can paint it different colours and name it the Bolette, but you know what I mean 😉
  18. Our meet & greet on HAL Rotterdam later this month, currently has 62 pax signed up. As happened pre covid, HAL will supply the location, tea, coffee and cookies. After that it is up to us!
  19. Outside the People Mover at Tronchetto. The coach park is across from the People Mover.
  20. $119 + 18% = $140.42 Website shows price including service charge, but navigator shows price without service charge.
  21. My Navigator app shows that the 4 bottles of cellar 1 is priced at $119 and the 6 bottle is $169. I have checked these prices on 'My Account' for my sailing and they are correct. 18% service charge is added to the price.
  22. Although our experience is pre-covid, we have used that flight to Dublin many times. We always take a private transfer (https://www.romecabs.com/), The check in desk/baggage drop did not open until 2 hours before the flight. We also purchased a Fast Track pass (it was only about €7).
