  1. The above! Naples is a nightmare, even for those who are fleet of foot. I would not like to try to navigate the streets and pavements with a wheelchair, either as a user or companion). Cars and more dangerously, scooters use the roads as a race track and also park anywhere. They consider the pavements as prime parking locations. What are your other ports? I have found (well, let's be precise, DW has found) that even Livorno has better shopping than Naples.
  2. I had to laugh at myself this morning. We are waiting on HAL to decide where our August 28th cruise will depart from.....Amsterdam, as scheduled, or Rotterdam (because of low water levels) or where ever. We also have a Baltic cruise booked recently for September 23rd, 2023. This morning in my email was the "Itinerary Change Notification" email and I thought, great!, they have made a decision on embarkation......is it Amsterdam, is it Rotterdam, is it.......... Well I got that wrong. It's a notification that because of the geopolitical situation they will not be calling to St Petersburg in September 2023. So HAL have written off peace in Ukraine for some time to come. ITINERARY CHANGE NOTIFICATION Please be advised that due to port closures from geopolitical events we will no longer call to St. Petersburg, Russia on September 29 & 30, 2023. Instead, we have revised the itinerary and added a call to Riga, Latvia on Thursday, September 28 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally, our call to Tallinn, Estonia has been moved to Friday, September 29 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and our call to Helsinki, Finland will be on Saturday, September 30 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Finally, our call to Stockholm, Sweden has been extended to overnight, arriving Sunday, October 1 at 8:00 AM and departing Monday, October 2 at 6:00 PM.
  3. Why would HAL refund the cruise fare? OP appears to have arrange their own flights, so simply is a 'no show'. Maybe insurance, but no requirement on HAL to refund.
  4. Just checked my android and it is still at 4.15.0 and on the Play Store (Google) the latest version is 4.15.0 dated 18th July 2022. Maybe just apple devices needed a small mod to 4.15.1
  5. We have never received a 'Welcome Back' offer. It may be a N. America thing. However when I book directly, I do ask about the 'Welcome Back Bonus' and it has never been refused, even if outside the official time period.
  6. They may be only opening appointments on a rolling 2 weeks in advance. That is what is happening currently in a lot of places. We are sailing August 28th and still cannot make an appointment at our local testing centre, but I am confident that by end of next week I will be able to make an appointment.

  8. Similar in euros. The official exchange rate is around €1 = $1.02 and lucky to get $0.98. HAL's corporate exchange rate for Crew Appreciation is around €1 = $1.12. That is a great discount and it does not affect the crew as the usual daily rate is charged to the onboard folio and then credited.
  9. Yes 😁 It is mostly frequented by entertainers, staff and casino staff. It is not the most exciting of 'meals' but it works for us as DW needs to eat small and regularly.
  10. You omitted Afternoon Tea and the Lido Late Night Snack. πŸ˜‰ (and a bit of Room Service if feeling peckish! 🀣) Why make do with 3 meals? After a few laps of the Promenade Deck you can always spend 5 minutes in the gym πŸ˜‰
  11. Room service does provide beverages, but just for clarity, they are not covered by the Beverage Packages. Package excludes purchases made in Signature Shops, Mini Bar and In-Room Dining
  12. Is your cruise booked in Canadian Dollars? The Pre Paid Crew appreciation on the website is priced in local currency using HAL's corporate fixed exchange rate. (I pre pay in Euros, but on my onboard account the daily crew appreciation is posted in U.S. Dollars and a matching credit is posted.)
  13. Oh no no no. maybe 80% red sauce with beef and lots and lots of garlic and 20% bechamel. Topped with grated parmigiano. mmmmmmmmm πŸ˜‹( with 🍷of course!)
  14. As the key cards already have a hole punched in them, I find it easier to use a lanyard. Hang them on a magnetic hook near the door so we almost have to walk through them when leaving the room. So much easier than heading to the front desk to ask for the door to be opened after we forgot to take the keys with us. Who cares what people think? They don't do it very often πŸ˜‰

  16. I always thought that the white sauce over the red sauce and lasagne sheets was bechamel sauce? Marinara sauce is red?

  18. If you booked directly with HAL then the Booking Confirmation you receive by email will show details on page 2 and it will be listed under 'Special Services' . If you booked through a travel agent, then their confirmation should show it.
  19. Who was the email from? If it was HAL then, depending on the wording of the email, I would be insisting that they honour it.

  21. Water, regular coffee, tea, all available free in the Lido 24/7. lemonade and ice tea in Lido at lunch and dinner. water in MDR at meal times
