  1. The Nieuw Statendam will not be docking in Venice. It will dock in Trieste about 2 hours from Venice.
  2. I don't see any posts from Princess Cruises on that thread. I guess Princess doesn't contribute.
  3. The post you quote is about the cruise ships bus transfer to the airport on disembarking. You will need to take the train https://www.ns.nl/en or taxi or private car.
  4. Much the same in Ireland. Based on EU regulations..... legislation in relation to taxi drivers is governed by the European Commission’s (compulsory use of seatbelts and child restraint systems in motor vehicles) regulations 2006, which allows for exemptions. The regulations for taxi drivers stipulate that an infant who is under three years of age can be carried on a back seat by an adult as long as that adult is wearing a seatbelt, usually around the child. A child more than three years of age does not need to be in a car seat if travelling in a taxi, but they must wear a seatbelt and not be in the passenger seat.
  5. You need to check if your travel insurance will cover you for any 'incidents' when renting a scooter. Scooter rental is an exclusion on many policies. p.s. by 'incident' I mean injury or hospital visit etc, including missing ship.
  6. They are Yamaha CLP765 Clavinovas and are one third of the price of the equivalent Grand Piano and one third of the weight. p.s. Three men and a set of bogey wheels will move a grand piano no problem.
  7. Mine was the ZX80 until it self ignited! Then Dragon 32. Such a giant technological jump.
  8. What is the significance of this? Has OP submitted a review somewhere? Google is not finding anything else except this thread.
  9. Refundable deposit??? 🤣🤣 Try that one in Europe. Here deposit is part of the contract and if you cancel then you lose the deposit. Deposit is usually 15% of the booking price.
  10. Not just UK, but basically all of Europe. Also price adjustments are non existant.
  11. Thank you for acknowledging that! 😉😁
  12. @montythecat the current UK price of £65 per day is a bit of a rip off. Even the more expensive onboard version priced in dollars is better value. With a departure next December, I would be holding tight and wait for a special offer or watch for reports on this forum as to whether the HIA is available onboard or not. You can still pre purchase up to about a week before departure.
  13. Stupid me misread the post and I thought it was Great Island Motors that required the car return to Lower Glanmire Road. 🤔🙄. Anyway, as @Globalisersays the Hertz location is on the Lower Glanmire Road, just next door to the train station. I have rented from there several times and can only guess that because of the recent traffic management changes in the area that pickup has been moved to an adjacent site. I would have no worries with the locations.
  14. I was not aware of that condition. Can you post a link of where it is shown on the website?
  15. There is another location for docking (Ringaskiddy), but NCL in May will be docking in Cobh. It is a very short walk. Just a few minutes!
  16. At least part of France and part of mainland Spain is on the Med. Portugal, of course, is not in the Med, and so should 'logically' be within the "British Isles and Western Europe". Though, do not start me on there only being "North American Homeports" and every where else is just a "Port of Call".
  17. For Cork, you will dock in Cobh. The airport is the last place that I would attempt to collect a car in Cork. There is a local car rental company in Cobh - expensive, but you will save a lot of time! Or take the train at the dock to Cork and Hertz is just beside the train station. I would guestimate the taxi fare from Cobh to Cork Airport at about €70 each way.
  18. Dear Mods, Why is this thread in "Other Mediterranean Ports"? Madeira is NOT in the med. It is not even close to the Med. Probably should be moved to "British Isles & Western Europe" (you won't get much more "West" than this! Or perhaps change the "Spain" sub forum to be "Iberian Penisula and Macaronesia Islands".
  19. Bantry: The town itself has Bantry House. Other spots worthy of interest are Garnish Island (from Glengarrif) or Gougane Barra. https://www.bantryhouse.com/ https://www.garinishisland.ie/ https://gouganebarra.com/
  20. On HAL you may bring on a "reasonable amount" of wine, but each and every one is charged $20 per 750 ml bottle whether for in room use or MDR use.
  21. Speedtest is connecting to Digicel in Curacao servers to test the speed of the connection.
  22. The Long Room in currently being restored and all the books have been removed. Access to the Long Room and Book of Kells continues, however there are no other books in the Long Room.
  23. You will lose the land based carrier's cell service very shortly after leaving the port. Sometimes it may be available for an hour, but most ports it drops very quickly. Occasionally, when passing close to an inhabited island you may connect for a moment or two, but you could not depend on it. Even with our European roaming regulations (calls in all of europe are included in our cell cost) we take the ships wifi for staying in contact.
  24. I have turned on my VPN and selected a USA based server and the Venice website still it works for me!
  25. Che macello! I cannot get the website to misbehave. Even using google translate give me the correct dates.
