need2cruisesoon Posted April 23, 2019 #953 Share Posted April 23, 2019 They (Swisher) are blend of a cigar and cigarette. I smoked these on our last cruise (NCL) in both the cigar lounge and smoking section of their ship without incident. Just wanted to know if they would be OK onboard the Royal? Very enjoyable to puff on after a hearty meal.
GeeDunk Posted April 23, 2019 #954 Share Posted April 23, 2019 Yes In Churchill's and I think on Aft, Deck 17 or
Thrak Posted April 24, 2019 #955 Share Posted April 24, 2019 The Princess guidelines regarding cigarettes vs cigars (and pipes) are pretty specific. Churchill's is the proper place for cigars.
OCruisers Posted April 24, 2019 #956 Share Posted April 24, 2019 Best to follow guidlines and smoke your Cigarillos in Churchill's which is a fun place to meet fellow smokers.
Travel2Learn Posted April 29, 2019 #957 Share Posted April 29, 2019 What is the smoking policy on the Royal Princess, and is it strictly enforced? There have been comments about passengers smoking on balconies and in the casino on other Princess ships. Is this happening on Royal Princess? However, smoking is usually allowed in part of the casino - other than designated smoke-free evenings. If someone should be smoking on the balcony I would report it and keep complaining until the situation was rectified. I do not want to be stuck with someone else's smoke. Period.

There have been comments about passengers smoking on balconies and in the casino on other Princess ships. Is this happening on Royal Princess? Below is the Princess policy. On the Royal Princess outdoor smoking areas include: An area on the deck 7 starboard aft. An area on deck 17 forward above the Lido pool. The aft section of deck 17. Indoor areas include some casino slots when playing. Casino tables are smoke free and there are some smoke free evenings in the casino. Not certain but I think I remember that a section of Club 6 becomes a smoking area during the late evening 'club' hours. Churchill's, deck 6 forward port, is the only location where you can smoke cigars and pipes. I have not experienced any smoking on balconies near our cabins since the policy was implemented years ago. Has it happened, probably. Strictly enforced? There are no wandering smoking police. I think it is the passengers themselves that report smoking in unauthorized locations. In cabins I would think the cabin stewards would smell the smoke and report it to their supervisor, followed by the cleaning charge. "Indoor areas onboard the vessels are non-smoking and smoking is only permitted in designated sections. Outdoor smoking areas are clearly posted throughout the vessel. Smoking is prohibited in Guest staterooms and balconies. Violations to the onboard smoking policy will result in a $250 cleaning fee for each occurrence, which will be charged to Your stateroom account. Repeated violations may result in You being disembarked prior to the end of the Cruise without any refund. The use of electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, or electronic nicotine delivery systems is allowed within the confines of the Guest's stateroom (balcony not included) and within designated smoking areas only."

Lindaru Posted June 9, 2019 #965 Share Posted June 9, 2019 We adhere, only smoking in the smoking lounge, the designated area out on deck, or after we are off of the ship.

That's pretty mind boggling actually. The entire point of Churchill's is to have a bar where one can smoke cigars and pipes. (Yes, I know people also smoke cigarettes there but some cigar and pipe smokers are not at all happy about that fact.) Of course the venue likely still reeks but having a ship with no smoking inside is pretty amazing. Some will think that is terrible but most will find it pretty cool. (I tossed the unfiltered Camels a good 30 years ago and never smoked again.)

I’m happy that you quit Thrak. 30 years of smoking those unfiltered Camels you probably would be in the concrete condo now.
