Princess has THE WORST WEBSITE!!!!

I have spent countless hours trying to schedule excursions on our Island Princess Alaska cruise. I must repeatedly sign in and have my reservation number to do cruise personalization. I cannot believe that they list excursions that are not even available on my itinerary! What a waste of my time. I don't think I will ever sail Princess again because of this. Anyone else experiencing this?

That sounds very weird. I've never experienced what you describe on the Princess website. HAL and Celebrity, yes, but never Princess.

Once you log into "My Princess" (link on the top right on the home page), you're logged in, can choose your cruise, check the itinerary and book excursions. Only the excursions for your itinerary are listed and you can create your own tour brochure based on the type of excursion you like to take and print it out so you can review it offline. You never have to log in with your booking #. That's why I much prefer the Princess website and the ability to easily book excursions.

If you're logged into "My Princess" and your booking isn't listed, you should contact your TA because something isn't right.

Maybe OP never completed the My Princess registration and has to sign in to the Cruise Personalizer every time? That would require your name, birthdate and booking # every time you start a new browser session.

Just been scheduling excursions for our December cruise....very easy and straightforward, nicely organized, with all the pertinent information supplied and booking a cinch. So for me, the answer would be "no."

No, my husband and I are completely registered. We leave Sat. for the land tour first then cruise on Wednesday. I am able to sign on without my number, he is unable to do so. He has to put his number in each time to use Cruise Personalizer and it never saves it. There is more going on than in my previous post which I tried to keep short. It seems to be mostly on the land tour where I am having the most problems. When I check my wish list, many things say sold out, but if I click on the particular excursion I can book it! All excursions are listed on each date even though we won't be there in time to do some of them. Hence, a waste of time looking at unavailable events. My relative who is also going is having the same problems. Also, some excursions will say how many spots are left, but tonight we tried to book our husbands on a rafting expedition which had no such info. As a matter of fact, it had my hubby's and my name on the available purchasers. We bothed clicked at the same time. Her's got on, but for my husband it said sold out. I am calling tomorrow, cause I am soooooo frustrated! Thanks for your input, just looking for sympathy, lol.

The web site has been terrible for me this weekend. I am unable to sign in as it does not recognize my e-mail address and/or password. I can get to 2 of my bookings by putting in the booking numbers but can not get to the 3rd one which is the most important of the bunch (tells me my birth date is wrong!!). I was able to work in there for hours on Sat and the whole thing collapsed on Sat night. I will also be calling today.

I also had problems signing in this weekend..but I assume it is just some problem with the site or updates, etc. Have been looking at it daily for several months and this is the first time it has happened to me so not a bad record at all!

Now I wish they had wheelchair accessible excursions...(I am having to book them from private companies since they don't sponsor any)

I am new to this but I have to login first ( upper right) then it switches to the entry form for my cruise personalizer where it requires booking # etc..

I have completed everything they require ( for dh also)

not sure why I have to go through 2 steps everytime.

No problems accessing tours though.

Princess often does their updates on weekends and sometimes this can cause some problems. But I have never experienced those kinds of situations. If you are both trying to access your cruise personalizers at the same time to book exercusions, you may be confusing the system...just a thought. I would call Princess direct today or your travel agent if you used one. Good luck.

We never had any issues with the cruise personalizer since Princess, who was one of the first, started on line excursion resevations years ago, and we were using Windows 2000 until just about 6/8 months ago. Suggest you don't make rash decision about Princess until after you complete your voyage. You can always sign up for tours on board. It is very easy. Just fill out the request and drop it in the box. No waiting in line. Princess also allows you to cancel most tours up to 24 hours (some longer) before without charge. Look at your tour ticket for the close out time.

I've been struggling with the Personalizer for the past week. And yes, I am a repeat cruiser on Princess so I know how it works. It started when my excursions became available for booking. It gave me error messages when I tried to book excursions, so I called 1-800-PRINCESS several times, and they gave me several reasons why it wasn't working. Now I can't even see my itinerary, my excursions, or any info from my sailing.

I am SO FRUSTRATED because I have called several times and they seem disinterested in fixing the problem. Yes, I know I can book excursions later on board, but that's not the point. Their system should work correctly, and if it doesn't, they should fix the problem when notified.

Are you using an iPad or phone to access their site. This is one of the drawbacks to using either to surf some sites as they do not accept cookies and other 'tricks' that make them works seamlessly. Or at least they don't always at least. Or if not iit's possible your computer's security settings have them turned off and therefore not accepting them.

Web site designers are getting better at working with mobile devices but not all sites will. I'm no web design expert but am only speaking from experience about what I've had happen to me.

I've found Princess website to be the best of all the cruise lines I've used (including Carnival, Costa, MSC, Celebrity, HAL and NCL). I've experienced problems with all of them, but less so wtih Princess. It had been a long time since I've booked an excursion throught any cruise line, but I recently used Princess' website to book 2 Princess excursions (that I could not duplicate elsewhere) for my upcoming SA cruise--I had no problems.

I just called Princess and spoke with the most condescending person. He explained in great detail that I am incompetent and that's how the website works! He repeatedly said "as I just explained" and other insulting remarks. He told me that I can book (online) as many excursions as I want for the land tour, but that doesn't mean I am really booked!!???? He said it was past the deadline and the manifests are set and anything I booked won't count, even though it books it online. He had no interest in my problems with the website.

He told me that my husband was booked on a rafting excursion, but it didn't show up on my reservations online. He told me to call my travel agent for an updated list. And of course, I didn't get to do the survey when that call was over. He had me shaking.

I called back and got another agent. She told me my husband was NOT booked for the rafting trip and that it is sold out. She booked him on another one.

I can't believe I am spending $10,000+ on a trip that has caused me nothing but stress!!! I have traveled with other group tour companies, customized tours with agents, and done my own itinerarys. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. I hope the rest of you have better phone calls than the one I just did! I am done with their excursions. They won't be getting any more of my $.

No problems for me booking excursions from my pc but for some reason I cannot access the excursions list from my Ipad. I always go through My Princess which leads straight into the personaliser.

Same here. Can't pull up excursions to book on the IPad.

Did you book directly with Princess or with an agent? If you booked with an agent, just call your agent and have them take care of it.

First off, I use a PC not, a "dumb" phone or an I Pad. It works perfectly for me and has with only one exception, once. The next day it was fine. I have booked excursions with it for our upcoming Med cruise. I check often for upgrades and other new information. I have looked at many other websites for other cruise lines. None compares so far. (I have not been to every other one)

Second, I have had nothing but great service from the CS people at Princess. They have been courteous, knowledgeable and helpful every time I have called them.

Perhaps your attitude had something to do with your experience?

I am not using an ipad or dumb phone. I had the same problems on my PC and apple. Our relatives who are traveling with us have had the same issues. I don't think that my "attitude" has anything to do with the problem we have been experiencing. I am not an IT specialist, but there is something basically wrong going on and they don't seem to care. That is on them not me.

Most of the Princess site is off limits on iPads/iPhones/iTouches due to their copious use of Flash technology.

To the OP: the Princess site can be difficult, but it tends to be one day and then not the next. I also, if I log in to My Princess, have to put in a booking number to get to my cruise personalizer. I always have to have my booking number to get to my cruise personalizer, regardless of how I go at it.

Sorry to see you are having problems with the Princess Cruise Personalizer, but you aren't alone. There have been several threads recently, including one started by a Cruise Critic moderator about Princess reverting login e-mail to an old account:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1677863&highlight=personalizer

and another thread about similar problems to yours:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1677464&highlight=personalizer

But IMHO, these kind of things are common on the internet. Certainly, even this board is often slow or unresponsive.

I would suggest you take a deep breath, relax for a little while, think happy thoughts, and not less this impact negatively on the cruise that you have invested so much in. Remember, stress accumulates and is a risk for heart disease.

This would not cause me to stop cruising with Princess.
