When you become Elite are you able to eat in Sabatini's for breakast.

On our last cruise our room steward claimed that when you become Elite you can eat breakfast in Sabatines. Is there any thruth to that.

No. Even on those ships the number of elite can overwhelm the venue.

I sailed in a suite on the Ocean Princess last fall, and the service in Sabatini's for breakfast was the best I have had only any Princess ship. One of the main reasons was that there were only a small number of people eating there and the waiters gave us the kind of personal service that we used to get in traditional dining in the old days.

 

I believe there were two or three couples who were allowed breakfast in Sabatini's in addition to the ten suites. One of them was someone who was celebrating his 75th cruise credit on Princess. Note that it was only for the 75th cruise credit itself - not for anyone with over 75 cruise credits.

 

I don't know how the others qualified.

Yes, that's a perk when you first achieve a high number of cruise credits (not days.) Others have been known to book inside or oceanview cabins but schmooze with the officers and get "invited" to partake of this perk. I can see an invitation for one breakfast by special invitation but an entire cruise is a bit much.

There was a cruise in the last two years with a number of passengers on board due to a casino promotion. These "special" passengers were allowed to eat breakfast in Sabatini's the entire cruise.

 

Some suite passengers posted they were unhappy with the "crowd" and the poorer service that resulted at breakfast.

Yes, Suite passengers can have breakfast in Sabatini's on the Ocean and Pacific.

I'm sorry I got the number wrong - I remember now that you said it was your 100th cruise credit. I enjoyed talking with you.

 

I believe the number of people celebrating milestone cruises (75 or 100 cruse credits) is small enough that it does not affect the service at Sabatini's.

Milestone cruises start at 75? I guess that is because the $25/50/75/100 credits top out beginning at cruise 50 (ish).

 

So no breakfast for us on our next (25th) Princess cruise!

I could understand your justification if you were talking about an evening meal in Sab. However. breakfast is breakfast. That would never justify going for a suite just to get breakfast. Different strokes for different folks. LOL

We were on a 9 night cruise last November and a 7 nighter last month and went to Sabatini's breakfast twice on each cruise.It just insn't worth all the waiters hovering around while we were trying to eat.Please just serve the food and check back now and then.JMHO!

I recently watched a youtube video of ultimate balcony dining and would be reluctant to try it for the same reason.

We always book suites and have found that the Sabitini's breakfast has started to go downhill over the past two years. It also depends on the cruise - 7 day vs 28 days, port intense vs lots of sea days. Longer cruises do seem to be better. And I think the crew makes a huge difference. We have been on some cruises that the staff has somehow managed to get everyone involved where we would stay two hours and interact with all the tables. Then there are some waiters that are very friendly and attentive but don't interact with people or talk much. You would think this would happen when they are super busy but there were only three tables full every morning when it has happened. I think the Royal was the worst.

 

Sabitini's use to be the best suite perk but not sure any more. We seriously are wondering if the suites are worth the money anymore or if it is time to go back to some other cruise lines.

 

And the food is excellent but I don't ever remember any new items on the menu. You'd think they could come up with something. Yes, you can order anything but maybe it is just getting to be old hat.

I love the Ultimate Balcony Dinner. The waiters don't hover. They present a course and leave while you eat. Their timing between courses has been pretty good each time we've done it.
