tgg Posted December 14, 2015 #51 Share Posted December 14, 2015 the big question Is there any Noro still about ? If there is, I haven't heard about it. If I do, I'll let you know.
grandmaa Posted December 14, 2015 #52 Share Posted December 14, 2015 Did they upgrade the machine so someone can win something?? :D We spoke with an employee on board and he said they were upgrading the machine so that all the lines within NCL Corp.will have a Players Club type of coordination for the casino players. When we walked through the casino the slot machines are not of the newer variety that you see at the casinos on land..payout the same😁 NADA! Thought with the holidays so close the ship would be decorated, but not.

Thought with the holidays so close the ship would be decorated, but not. They decorate it a few days before Christmas. Perhaps it will be done right before you disembark. They do it all at night. You get up in the morning and go WOW. We were up late one night in Martini's and watched them. The whole crew was decorating. I hope you get to see it. The sun is shining, the food is good, service levels are what they should be, and the crusty breads and rolls are crusty. What more could a person want?:) good to hear. Happy for you. grandmaa Posted December 16, 2015 #70 Share Posted December 16, 2015 I just Washed some clothes in the sink and hung on the line in the tub. Easy I did the same... We received a laundry order form with info that for $24.95 you can have up to 20 pieces of Clothing washed and folded...not ironed and back to us the next day. The launderette was still closed. I have not heard about Noro on the ship and cannot understand how clean clothes could be a hazard to ones health. If they fear the spread of germs take away the iron. Today a tender port with an approx. tender ride of 25 minutes to the pier.
Lord H Posted December 16, 2015 #71 Share Posted December 16, 2015 I just spen 45 minutes writing a complete and thorough review of what went on today. Went to post it, and we must have lost the internet conncection, and the entire post is gone. NO!!!!!! Not going to re-write so here are a few high points. Arrived at pier 10:15 AM Check-in started at 11:00 AM On board ship and sitting down to buffet lunch by 11:15 AM You already know from the 1st poster that the Casion will be closed until further notice. Also, they will be doing "routine maintenance to the ship's propulsion system" which will require reduction in ship's speed during certain portions of the cruise which will mean "adjusted port times" at 3 of our ports. Sine note: At the preliminary check-in point, at the entrance to the pier building, something went wrong and the "Master Passenger Manifest" they were using seemed to be missing large numbers of passengers. The two couples ahead of us in line weren't on the list, we weren't on the list, and the couple behing us weren't on the list. So the supervisior got frustrated and just sent all of us through up to the 2nd floor. For the next 45 minutes, as we sat there, I overheard quite a few other passengers come up and comment on how "messed up" things were at the entrance. It's kind of mind boggling, how can a master list of passengers be so screwed up. In the Terrace Buffet all food is being placed on passenger's plates by staff members. No passenger allowed to touch food or serving instruments. On the other hand, NO ONE is posted at the entrances of the buffet making passengers clean their hands with the hand sanitizer. The only place where hand sanitation was manditory, was at the doorway from the check-in hall to the ship's gangway. Hope this posts this time! Dr. J As you may be aware the last 2 B2B cruises on Riviera were Norovirus infected for 20 of the 24 days. Am amazed you were able to board on time. Last changeover, some Deck 7 passengers did not get into their suites until 19:30+. I was very concerned that Tannoy messages were only mentioning hand sanitising with alcohol-style sanitisers which have limited action vs Norovirus. More should be made of the fact that hand washing regularly with soap and water should be the norm. Please let us know if once again Riviera returns to level 2 sanitation protocols. Nonetheless wish you a safe and enjoyable voyage (more than we had!)
Rare LHT28 Posted December 16, 2015 #72 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Has anyone inquired why the laundry room are still closed ??? Are all floors closed? Any extra cleaning noticed ?
Leejnd4 Posted December 16, 2015 #73 Share Posted December 16, 2015 I did the same... I have not heard about Noro on the ship and cannot understand how clean clothes could be a hazard to ones health. If they fear the spread of germs take away the iron. Hand-washing clothes is not the most pleasant pastime. Furthermore, since I recently had shoulder surgery, my right arm is still painful and movement limited. So hand washing my clothes is going to be a big no for me. If the launderette isn't open, that 20 items for $24.95 sounds like a good deal to me. We have a butler who will iron for us. Guess that's the route we'll go if it's still closed on our cruise.

hypercafe Posted December 16, 2015 #75 Share Posted December 16, 2015 I really do not think 25$ for 20 items is that great of a deal. If they have closed the self serve they should have a better deal, maybe one bag free a week.
