Summer Vacation - Northeastern US

Hi, we are thinking of taking the Grandeur for a nine day cruise on June 9th and are just wondering if elementary and high school is on vacation at that time.

Most NJ schools get out around the third week of June.

In northwest Indiana we are done by Memorial Day weekend.

Most schools in Maryland will stil be in session.

Our schools are in until June 18 at least..because of snow days!

Every single school system is different. Folks come from EVERYWHERE to cruise! The "local" area is not the main contributor to the cruising public!

MD will still be in school as will DC and most of VA. PA and DE probably will be too. Most schools in the NE are in until at least the 15th.

NY as a whole are not out until second to last week of June due to required state exams (June 23rd this year)

We live an hour north of Baltimore in Southern PA and my kids' last day is June 1st. Most schools in our county are done around this time.

I forgot NYC schools have a slightly different calendar.

Do keep in mind that some schools in other areas are out then and with each passing year more children are being home schooled.

That schedule is incorect.

Harford County last day of school as of now is June 20th , not June 10th as posted.

Even in Summer families tend to take the shorter cruises of 7 days or shorter.

From what I see before. I would go to your local school board website for latest dates.

Here in the Philadelphia suburbs we are finished on 6/10.

There will be at least 3 kids on this cruise as we are booked for this cruise and our boys are all out of school at that time. :D (We're from Ohio.)

We are in Western NY and our kids are in school through the entire month of June - we don't get out until the first week of July!
