PoppyandNana Posted June 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2016 For an upcoming Caribbean we can have the choice of a 1A on the slant facing forward amidships OR a C3 on deck ten in a normal cabin fairly far forward. $40 separates the two. Which would you choose?
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Which deck? I would not go for deck 6 for the 1A, but for other decks, I would go for the 1A over the C3 unless you want the concierge perks. EM
Duanerice1 Posted June 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Yea, depends on exact location but I do like a larger balcony. For the C3 they do have footstools which make sitting on the balcony a bit nicer. Other than footstools the other perks would not outweigh the larger balcony. No one can answer but you. Rare cruisestitch Posted June 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Do you need the Captain's Club points? Concierge gives extra over verandah.

Which would you choose? I would take C3 because of more CC points, Concierge perks and priority boarding/lunch and disembarkation...
TeaBag Posted June 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2016 if tier points mean anything to you, you will get 2 more/day in the C3 than you will in the 1A. You will also get the bottle of sparkling wine in your cabin and the crudites each day (sometimes edible, sometimes not!), plus lunch in the MDR on embarkation day. In the 1A you get the fabulous balcony.
drakes2 Posted June 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2016 I would go for the 1A large hump balcony cabin especially in the Caribbean. Don't care for the crudites and lunch in MDR is only till 1 pm on embarkation day.

Which would you choose? You don't say which ship and that matters. If you're talking about an M-Class, then definitely get the extra square footage that the C-Class offers. If you're talking about S-Class, then go with the C-Class if you want more points.

PoppyandNana Posted June 8, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Wouldn't be M class because they don't have 1A cabins ;). Ship is the Silhouette. The 1A is on deck 9; the C3 is on ten.
QuakerBoy Posted June 8, 2016 #12 Share Posted June 8, 2016 1A all the way for location.
BILL-WI Posted June 8, 2016 #13 Share Posted June 8, 2016 The 1A any day over the C3. The 1A will have a balcony that is 1.5 times to 2 times lager than a normal cabin. You will spend time on your balcony in the Caribbean. BILL
Rare Turtles06 Posted June 9, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Another vote for the 1A and the big balcony and great location (unless you really need/want the extra CC points).

Rare Cruise Junky Posted June 9, 2016 #16 Share Posted June 9, 2016 I'm faced with the same thing, they are the same price on Solstice next year, we took the 1A first off the hump

pumpkin 11 Posted June 9, 2016 #19 Share Posted June 9, 2016 1A for sure. If spending time outside is something you do a lot, I would choose the 1A. Deck nine on s-class is great. It's nice to have a private space to escape from the crowded upper decks. If not, take the CC points if you're not elite.
