Looking for opinions on your favorite RCI ship review

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This may be a silly request, but I'm hoping to get some opinions on your favorite review written here on the forums. I just love reading old reviews with pictures, stories, good/bad points etc while I'm waiting for my next cruise. I think I have read most of them.. and almost every single one has been fun to read.

Reason for asking is that our family is going on the Freedom in Oct, and since my daughter is a writer, she wants to document our trip for the memories, and since I love to read reviews, she has agreed to write one when we get back, since she'll already be writing it all up.. but I want to send her one to read over since she's never on the CC forums. I have a few that I just love, but wanted to see if anyone had a favorite!

I wouldn't send her any of the reviews, I would let her find her own voice and not get influenced by anyone else. Once she has written her review, I would then show her your favorites reviews from the past. There are many out there with very unique styles and would be fun to see if she has a new twist to share with everyone.:)

The best reviews have a good balance of opinion, facts, photo's, and humour.

Some people go way overboard and try to account for every minute spent on the ship.

Don't show a picture of every dish you ate.

Keep it relatively simple and focus on the highlights.

Anything by SailorJack - he has a unique style of writing.

Also this is a wonderful review - Alaska Cruise Tour & Cruise on the Radiance of the Seas Review 7/25/15 – 8/7/15 by Bmorecruiser021

Cant disagree with SailorJack the NCL ship that had the crash(can't remember which one) is one of the funniest things I have ever read

That one had me in tears I was laughing so hard. Did you read the one where he went for a camel ride? :p

I have enjoyed all of the reviews mentioned above! As someone who travels with kids, APDMOM and FamilyGoBoston get my top shout outs.

I have also really enjoyed the reviews written by kids and teens - they have such a great perspective and for me - it's actually the information I really appreciate having when deciding for my family!! (If the kids are having fun and not whining then I can have fun too!! It's a win win!)

I hope your daughter enjoys her cruise and the experience of writing a review!

You sure told him! And I agree with you. As long as a writer uses some semblance of paragraph form I can skip over paragraphs that don't interest me and find what does. I care very little about casinos and the kids program, but obviously a lot of people do, so be as verbose as you want, I have reading skills and can adapt.

I second this. Harryfat1's review was one of the funniest I've read, and it was also very informative.

Put in a 3rd vote for Harryfat1. His review got me so excited for our cruise...very informative, comical, and I could relate as we're not big spenders and were also coming with kids so a family cruise too.

Gambee's reviews also stand out....and A&L (or is it A&O)
