I believe you will need to decide if you want to keep Sip 'n Sail or replace that promo and benefits with the new 3 for Free promo ... you can't stack unlimited promos.

Of course! Thanks, the brain was taking a bit of a break.

What about solo cruisers? Would consider re-booking my summer solstice cruise which was quite expensive - it states that single cruisers would get the OB credit amt for the cabin but then below that it says the fares are not applicable for singles? Which is it?

The other thing I've noticed lately is that they have a sale and fares go up????

I did the summer solstice cruise this year as a solo cruiser and I got the promo that was offered last year. I always get the offers as a solo cruiser on the cruises I've been on. I've been waiting for this sail, so I'll be checking it out next week to see if my booked cruises are eligible.

How can I find this promotion? I didn't get an email or flyer about it. Come to think of it I haven't got a flyer in the mail from Princess for quite away. Get the other cruise lines about once a week.

It will be on the Princess web site home page the day the sale starts.

Retired traveling,

6-9 days $150 per guest

9-12 $200 per guest

13 $250 per guest

Both guest must choose the same options, per the website.

That was my understanding, both from the Princess website and from posts here, but oddly when I called Princess to switch the drinks package to obc the rep asked me if I wanted to switch for both or just myself. She was completely prepared to give me the obc and leave hubby with the drinks package. I can't say if that would actually have worked if she'd tried to do it, since I wanted obc for both. Yet another example of "ask Princess and if you don't like the answer call back and ask again?"

Do not get your hopes up.

Princess (and RCCL and Carnival and....) are trying to maintain pricing levels to convince passengers that booking early will be the best deal they can get. This seems to be successful as Carnival Corp (which includes Princess) and RCCL report that future bookings are up and with higher pricing compared to last year.

So with a 7-day cruise that has (per person) $75 OBC and $90.65 gratuities ($7 more in a mini suite or full suite), the actual cost of the cruise is lowered by $165.65/person with no change in basic pricing other than getting a higher price cabin at a lower price cabin price, usually a difference of less than $50/person.

So instead of having sales with pricing going down and then up after the sale, basic pricing stays about the same and the amenities bring the actual cost of the cruise down.

We've been holding off on booking a 2017 Mediterranean cruise until this promotion kicks in. I just noticed that the prices increased $100 pp in the last couple of days. I guess there is no free lunch.

For this Sale , all of the sailings and category Lead Rates are now available in your TA's POLAR booking system . Can't actually be booked just yet but you can ask your TA if it applies to a sailing that interests you.

p.s. Sorry for the 9/01 typo in the topic , just can't edit Topics once you make an error :(

I did a search for 3 for free and was able to find the fare charts here: https://book.princess.com/BookingSystem/goToUrl.do?srcURL=marketing/pc/promotional/promotions/index.jsp

Two of our booked cruises are the same as for the Sip and Sail and one we are watching is a couple hundred $$ higher. Guessing that these are pre-Captain's Circle discount so probably $100 less when you log in on or after 9/6?

I hope these prices are correct. A balcony cabin on the cruise I'm considering began at $2599 last week, but currently is showing $2699. This chart puts it back at $2599. I wonder why Princess would raise the fares for one week between promotions. Wouldn't everyone just rebook next week?

Thanks azbirdmom for posting that link. I booked Crown Princess TA in April under the sip and sail. Glad I did as the 3 for free doesn't look to be as good. Cabin price is higher which basically is the difference.

The S+S promotion was for balcony or higher cabins but the 3 for Free will also be valid for those of us who book inside or oceanview cabins.

Searching the prices for a TA we're considering for next September the price for this September was over $400 less than the 3 for Free's net price. Being retired & okay with any cabin we'll wait until closer to sailing which usually has better prices for cruises we're interested in sailing.

Astro,

I've got an ocean view also. How can you be sure the new promo includes ov?

In post #13 these statements lead me to believe that OV & insides are included.

Under cabin category upgrade: "Offer is based on availability in like to like stateroom types (Interior to Interior, Oceanview to Oceanview, Balcony to Balcony)".

Under free gratuities: "$12.95 per guest per day for Interior, Oceanview, and Balcony staterooms".

Knowing how Princess doesn't always accurately describe details, we won't know for sure until Tuesday.

I actually just got off the phone with someone at Princess Cruise Travel Planning, and the new promo (3 for free) starts on Tuesday 9/6. Here's the highlights:

1. Paid gratuities for guests 1 and 2 per room

2. Free in-class room upgrade (forward balcony to midship balcony, for example)

3. Free OBC (cruises 6 days or longer only)

4. Reduced deposit of $100 pp.

Promo is scheduled to run until Nov 16, but it sounds like a "while supplies last" sort of thing, because the person I talked to said it might end early.

Reading thru all of this, did not see any mention of deposits. For a 14 or 17 day cruise will the typical $100pp deposit apply and will this be refundable or not?

The only mention about a $100 deposit I've read was on another thread & it was based on information provided by a Princess agent which isn't always accurate.

Thanks Astro.

You're welcome and hopefully it will be for all types of cabins.

The OBC shows that it's based on cabin type & length of cruise: "Spending Money per stateroom is based on voyage length, stateroom type".
