Princess is really taking a page from the Carnival Casino playbook. With Carnival this is called and Elite casino cruise. Sent to select few, specific sailing, and same list of amenities.

Noted Princess is also doing Carnival's "Bounce Back" offers too. At the end of your current cruise, if you've played enough, you get a letter offering discount or free cabin if booked within two weeks (sail within 6 months).

Evidently it's making good casino revenue for Carnival so Princess is trying it out.

I know folks that have gone on the Carnival Elites and they are great. Treated really well by the Casino hosts. Go and have a great time!!

actually not too much, mostly table games. got to know the dealers and pit bosses well though. Hostess offered specialty dining all the time too.

wonder if the prestige players department is different from the Ocean Players Club

what I notice different in this offer than most casino offers;

•complimentary parking at the port or private car service to and from the airport

•a complimentary shore excursion

and of course;

•plus a free Mini-Suite!

This offer should also include free drinks - not just while playing in the casino but all over the ship. The AIBP. That's what Carnival does and in reading the invite, there's no restrictive wording about the drinks so I think it's the full beverage package.

If they are following to the letter, you'll also get asked what complimentary drink you'd like in your cabin when boarding. ie bottle of your favorite spirit!

offer doesn't say you have to be playing like most casino offers, but in the small print it says you are responsible for costs.

I'll have to ask about that

My two cents...

Somehow my spidy-senses tell me that Princess will not lose any money at all on these deals. They expect to get it all back with interest.

Giving a mini-suite to a gambler may just prove to be a pretty good bet for Princess.

I've been receiving free cruise offers from HAL for a couple of years now , in fact just got one last week. Their offers usually include a list of about 20 last minute cruises to choose from and are for "insides" with a $99.00 upgrade option to a balcony .. .

Alas I've yet to take them up on any of the offers as I feel these kind of offers come with a certain expectation that you'll commit a lot of time to play in the casino which I'm just not into, rather than being able to just enjoy a normal cruise. So no thanks...

Not that big a gambler, and just can't imagine spending 10 straight days in a casino

The people that get this offer spend a lot in the casino. We would never get this offer as we spend very little in the casino. Princess knows to the penny what everyone spends in the casino, so its not rocket science to figure out for them the high rollers that they will make money from.

One more thing, if like Carnival's Elite cruises (and looks just like it), these are very tightly capacity controlled. There may be many invites but Elite cruises were limited to about 40 bookings (invitee and guest). So if you get the invite and want to go, book ASAP.

M4dC0w,

Great offer. Don't understand some of the comments. If you are like me, the casino is a part of my cruising experience (as sunning is my DW's!). I enjoy the gaming and the camaraderie at the tables. I understand that the take is in favor of the house.

I play what I want and any offer that I get is considered an unexpected, pleasant bonus.

Congrats and Good Luck. Paul

I just noticed they actually booked it already . They had D308 reserved for me before I even called in.

Actually the key to getting decent comps is not just throwing lotsa money at them. The money is avoid the slots and machines, as you are designed. To lose on them.

Get to know the hostess, know the supervisors. Lower your bets when they are not looking, when they are raise them. The track you by the time you play on the tables, and have a formula to work out how many hands and bets you place.

I usually allocate $1000 for gambling per cruise, and rarely lose more than that. Most of the time you will break even, and sometimes take extra home.

That's part of the experience, they have comped me specialty dining and excursions all the time. Drinks are a given too

That's been our experience, but Not playing on the Tables.

Non-gamblers have a hard time understanding how much they think you need to Play in order to get comp cruises.

If you're NOT into Gambling? Then don't worry about it.

For us? We usually budget & play some in casino most days.

I almost always come back ahead or break even.

And with the Play I've cycled thru? I get Comp offers for Future cruises.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat. :D

The issue is with the machines, they have all or nothing for any accrued points. You cannot negotiate what points you get, and the slot attendants cannot control comps. I have yet to EVER see the casino Hostess/Host chat up slot players.

At the tables you chat up the put bosses and Host/hostesses, and you control what they see you do. even if you don't play a lot, just buy in for a bit, and play every second or third hand, the table keeps track of the time you spend sitting there. Their system works out the percentage of hands you play per hour versus your bet they assume you make consistently.

The Host/Hostess and pit bosses have the ability to comp you anytime.

It doesn't take much money to make you look like a big spender, just the time associated at the tables. The machines track every cent you bet.

I actually talked to reservations, as I didn't like the open balconies on Dolphin, asked for something on Emerald (nothing available), they upgraded us to a suite. Maybe my luck on this cruise is just starting.

The weird thing is, Ocean Players Club has nothing to do with this promo, Prestige Players must be a new department.
