kelbell Posted January 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2017 We are flying in the day of the cruise Feb 18, (Saturday) Are there still plenty of taxi cabs after 12pm, or should we hire a driver. We have never flown in same day as cruise.

donaldsc Posted January 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) It is an airport. There are always cabs at an airport. Everyone flying into FLL is not going on a cruise. BTW - FLL is only about 2 - 3 miles from the cruise ship terminal. Assuming that you are cruising out of the Fort Lauderdale cruise terminal, I hardly think that hiring a car service for a 2 mile trip makes much sense. Now if you are cruising out of Miami, I would go w a transfer service. DON Edited January 20, 2017 by donaldsc
CruiserBruce Posted January 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) There are thousands of people arriving in the afternoon to sail the next day, like us. They need to get to their hotels. There will be plenty of taxis. Edited January 20, 2017 by CruiserBruce

Krazy Kruizers Posted January 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2017 All you need to do is claim your luggage and go out to the taxi stand. Saturday is a very busy cruise day. So you may have to wait in line a few minutes for a taxi. There are people there monitoring the taxi stand.
sail7seas Posted January 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2017 I is a very short, inexpensive taxi ride.
fishywood Posted January 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2017 If there are several parties ahead of you in the taxi queue it may appear to be moving slowly. But rest assured it is always moving. Supply of taxis at FLL outstrips demand 24/7 which is why when the driver discovers your fare is only a quick ride to Port Everglades he will try to swindle you by claiming there is a per head charge or a charge for luggage. So you have to make sure the meter is running from the moment you enter the cab.
Rare Hlitner Posted January 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Taxis are always available at the airport with Uber and Lyft nearby if anyone wants to summon one of these services. Hank

I will agree that there are always cabs at FLL, but I know of at least four airports within 200 miles of here where you will never see a cab, if you want one you have to call, and take your life in your hands with what appears. You refer to "Here" but do not tell us where 'here' is. Where is 'here'?
