Blackjack Table Minimum?

Recommended Posts

I have seen $6 tables on recent cruises -- usually just one per ship. It is highly dependent on the number of gamblers for each trip. Longer cruises have a lot of older folks, many of whom do not gamble. Shorter cruises have more younger folks and more gamblers. The $6 tables are an enticement to try to get people to play.

$6 tables on Adventure last year when we cruised. Was only in there one night, the non smoking night in the casino so not sure if the other nights the tables were $6 or not.

Watch the "rules" carefully. Some of the lines have lower minimum tables (like $6), but the blackjack payout is 6:5. Higher minimum tables (for example $10 and up) usually keep the standard 3:2 payout for BJ.

This was the case on Freedom.

On Liberty of the Seas - the $6 minimum table games are only from 9-11am on sea days. Craps is excluded from the low limit hours, however.

Liberty or Liberty of the Seas? :)

There were $6 tables in the evening on our May 4 Liberty cruise. I played two nights. I guess it depends on how busy they are.

Billyboo is right on the 6:5 payout on BJ on $6 table. I always wonder why they do that.

To keep more of your money.

Its a rule that favors the house, and they use it on the cheaper tables because the know the typical player there doesn't understand this, or doesn't care ("It's 'only' six bucks.")

What was the min on craps? Is it still $10?

It seems to depend on the casino manager. I was on Anthem in March and it was 10 and then it was finally lowered back to 5 on April. There still wasn't enough players. They really need to make the minimum five and have it go 345 on the odds. they allow the extra chip(s) on a $15 bet on the inside numbers which facilitates the 9 chip payout but having to put up 25 for double odds and 50 if you want 345 is just absurd.
