lenquixote66 Posted July 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Yes they allow it but the majority of the people I have discussed this with said they never lock theirs.

Rare S.A.M.J.R. Posted July 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2017 We don't pack anything in luggage that we would get upset if we lost. Anything of value is in our carryon.

setsail Posted July 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Royal doesn't care what kind of lock is on your case. If they want to look they will just call you down. We like unlocked
joand452 Posted July 3, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 3, 2017 We don't lock when flying and do lock them before getting on the ship and when putting them out on depression night ([emoji6]). toxicfairy Posted July 3, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 3, 2017 I always lock mine for the flight and the cruise. Just keeps them from comming open. Mine have built in locks so I'm not adding anything extra. I simply tuck the pulls on the zipper into the lock then turn the dial. dgh203 Posted July 3, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 3, 2017 We use plastic zip ties. Then we know if someone has been through our luggage.
molsonschooner Posted July 3, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 3, 2017 We have never used locks. If thieves want something bad enough locks aren't going to stop them. Especially if you have soft sided luggage. Put your valuables in your carry on.
TNcruising02 Posted July 3, 2017 #14 Share Posted July 3, 2017 I recently cruised with RCL and used a TSA compliant lock on my luggage.

cb at sea Posted July 3, 2017 #16 Share Posted July 3, 2017 ALWAYS lock your belongings when they aren't in your hand! Always! Doesn't have to be a TSA lock...any decent lock will do.

If anyone wants in all they need is a sharp knife. Prefer my luggage not be destroyed.

Havingfun2010 Posted July 3, 2017 #20 Share Posted July 3, 2017 I always lock my luggage - because it helps insure the zippers don't pop open. It did once for me. I don't care if someone looks at my underwear. If they really want to steal used clothing, so let them. It's insured on my credit card anyway. I don't pack that I would cry if it goes missing. Big_G Posted July 3, 2017 #21 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Another zip tie user. It's more for keeping the zipper from opening accidentally. Between airports and cruise terminals, it's rather surprising how many times luggage has been delivered minus the zip tie.

If anyone wants in all they need is a sharp knife. Prefer my luggage not be destroyed. You do not need a knife to get into a soft sided luggage, a pen will work just fine. We lock our bags to try to keep everything inside. If we are missing a lock, we just zip tie it shut.
