Wearing dress shorts in MDR on Adventure of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Rules are for the birds. The cruise lines have become so lax it really has turned into a more relaxing atmosphere.

The only time anybody has said anything to me was the time I went to guest services on the way to dinner in my swim diaper to get the auto gratuity removed. Apparently shirts are requred?

if you own or manage the ship you make the rules and it should be required for everyone to follow just like standing in line on a ship

The dress suggestion isn't a rule. Even RC doesn't call it a rule. Their website calls it a dress code and the Cruise Compass calls it suggested. Should it be followed? If so the staff needs to consistently enforce it. Speaking only for us, the suggested evening dress is never an issue or a concern what others are wearing.

we do not make the rules BUT WE SHOULD ALWAYS ADHERE TO THE RULES AND DO WHAT WE ARE TOLD ALWAYS

Last cruise I wore long pants in the MDR but I must admit, I AM A RULE BREAKER. :(

Just today I went a wee bit over the speed limit once, or twice, or......Broke the rules.

I rolled through a right turn on a red light. But I almost stopped. Broke the rules.

I jaywalked. Broke the rules.

I dopped a piece of paper on the ground and didn't go back and pick it up. Broke the rules.

But the absolute worst rule I broke today was I bought peanut butter for the first time in 30 years.Broke Mrs. Dawg's rule.:o

Anyone who says they never, ever break a rule just might ;) be breaking one of the big rules! You know, the ones that more important than the no shorts in the MDR rule.

P.S. I also plan to wear white after labour day. :)

No, not those.

You are looking for the ones bringing water and other beverages onboard.

That be me. :). When I cruise on Princess. I bring a 12 pack of Diet A and W Rootbeer, and 12 pack of Diet Dr. Pepper on board. No issues with Princess.

Since I've not yet cruised with RCCL, but plan to do so in the future, I'll have to read RCCL rules.

Dress codes on RCCL? I suffer from memory loss, and forget the many comments here.

So, I forget, do you follow the RCCL dress code? Or not?

Enjoy your cruise.

Those are very nice shorts. :)

But remember those are still outlawed in the MDR. Feel free to wear your second-hand Kirkland or George trousers you got from Value Village though. ;)

I'm from England and never heard of those stores.

Not wanting to sound like a snob because i will socialise with anyone and don't mind at all what other people wear but i only wear designer shorts, polo tops and shirts.

Kirkland is from Costco. George is from Walmart. And Value Village is a second hand-store chain.

You don't wear designer underwear?

Asda in Uk sell George as they are part of Walmart.

Designer wear only as posted.

Marks and Spencer in England is best quality for other clothing.

And you can always wear a designer Depends Adult Diaper under your designer shorts to complete the look. Or if you don't wear a diaper, simply go commando if you are cruising in hot and humid areas.
