We sail at the end of this month and have been checking on here for quite awhile! Please advise if you know anything especially regarding Captain and CD. Thanks. M Alejandro Tortorelli has posted on his Instagram page that he is aboard Constellation. He is one of the best CDs - if not the best. You could really endear or surprise him if you took an Argentinian flag or football top with you!! If you have Instagram try accessing tortorellialejandro for his posts. Enjoy your cruise. Glad to hear that he is a great CD thanks

As you say, it was a difficult situation with the customer mix not matching the entertainment they had booked and it needed to be fixed. He was never too busy to talk to guests (and I talked to him A LOT)! Lucky him to be back in Toronto just in time for the NBA Finals!

On that sailing, the officers included Captain Charis, Staff Captain Maria Gotor and Cruise Director Patrick Leynes. There is a major rotation of senior officers taking place. wwcruisers Posted June 4, 2019 #1212 Share Posted June 4, 2019 Arno, thanks again for continuing to update and post your wonderful chart! And, thanks to all of the folks who help to provide updated information for it. 👍 Looking at the 'Staff Captain' column, I was wondering if anyone knows whether Nigel Smyth is still a Staff Captain with X? We had the pleasure of being seated at one of the last 'Formal Night' Captain's Tables that he hosted, on Summit in 2015.

We had the great pleasure of lunching with Staff Captain Nigel Smyth on our B2B Solstice cruises 4/12 & 4/30/19. He’s a hoot! He told many funny Irish relatives stories. He was also very entertaining at Liar’s Club. Jane Edited June 4, 2019 by JaneStarr

We were on the Infinity in January 2018 very unhappy trip with one fully working engine sailing to Antartica and he did an amazing job as there was almost a mutiny on the ship and he bent over backwords to keep us entertaned. Orator Posted June 11, 2019 #1219 Share Posted June 11, 2019 Virgin has been heavily recruiting Celebrity personnel. Some, like Jordan Bernstein have made the switch, most have not. I'm sure that Captain Kate was their first choice (and yes, I know her husband is Virgin employee #1). I'm sure she is being compensated very well by Celebrity. spencerdrivecruiser Posted June 11, 2019 #1221 Share Posted June 11, 2019 It is just a matter of time before Kate gives in to Virgin. Jill Anderson will be the First HD on the ship. It's probably best that she and her husband do not put all their eggs in one basket since there is no guarantee that Virgin will succeed. Unless they offer to make her the CEO. spencerdrivecruiser Posted June 11, 2019 #1223 Share Posted June 11, 2019 There was some dissension because Kate wanted to work with her husband at Celebrity which of course is verboten. I had heard through a source that Mr B. will allow it on his ships. He is very innovative and a trend setter. Let see how this all plays out. I can’t think of one married couple that would not want to see their spouses on a regular basis. If they even have the same schedule, 3 months on, 3 months off, that only half a year together. I doubt that’s do-able for the long run when you are young in your prime.

Come on, how is that any different from the situation where one spouse is at home all of the time while the other is at sea for 3-6 months at a time?
