Casino Smoke

Recommended Posts

Of course they do

Do you think any non smoking staff could survive working there if they didn't

True. :D

But many are Eastern European. And in Eastern Europe, most people still smoke.

We thought the same in the Navy.

Went from smoking in mess decks to smoke free fleet wide in 18 months.

But you did not have a choice to cruise or not. :D

My Dad spent 37 years in the Navy.

So you are agreeing with me. They just put smoking crew in the casino to work

It's still a disgusting habit that causing disgusting smells on a ship.

Thanks for this link. I added my vote for smoke free ships with fallback for AOS,March 14, 2020 cruise, our 50th anniversary.

Just off Adventure and the smoke could be smelled from Deck 3 all the way to Deck 5 on the Promenade. Casino was on 4. Plenty of non players using the Casino for smoking also. Really cheapens the whole cruise experience. Disgusting

We've sailed on RC a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience except for the heavy smoke in the casinos. We're trying Celebrity this March solely because the casino (and most of the ship) is smoke free. Someone recently on FOS told me he'd been told RC is considering going smoke free in its casinos. Has anyone else heard this?

That would be awesome.

Was this just for that specific sailing? I've seen others post here on CC the same complaint about smokers not gambling but using the casino as a smoking lounge.

Happens on all cruises. Non playing smokers use the casino as a lounge. On Celebrity now and for those that don’t smoke and like to play, Celebrity is the way to go. Hands down.

Agree about Celebrity's no inside smoking policy, anywhere. Possibly RC will go that way one day. (yn)

People use the casino as their smoking lounge even when the casino isn’t open. Very frustrating when you have to walk through the casino to get to other lounges.

So you are complaining about people smoking in a designated smoking area because you want to walk through that area to get to someplace else?

It's not that people WANT to walk through, in some cases you have no choice but to walk through the casino. Unless you go up or down a floor to get to the other end of the ship.

The Casino is NOT a smoking lounge although people seem to use it as such.

If smoking is allowed in designated areas and people are smoking within those designated areas then they aren't in violation of anything.

I didn't see any policy that says you must be gambling to smoke in the designated smoking areas of the Casino. Maybe those people are taking a break from gambling.

I've seen signs to that effect in a couple of ship casinos, but that has not been embraced fleetwide.
