Ergates The Ant Posted May 22, 2018 #157 Share Posted May 22, 2018 If someone keeps their alcohol consumption to a reasonable level, their impact on other passengers is negligible or non existent. If someone lights up a cigarette, the smell and smoke can be an immediate nuisance to those around them. There is no acceptable lower limit for cigarette smoke, while there is a level of alcohol use below which it is of no danger or nuisance to others. Magnetchief Posted May 22, 2018 #158 Share Posted May 22, 2018 RCIs resistance to going all smoke free baffles me. The health and welfare of the casino staff alone should be reason enough to stop all this smoking. Personally, I avoid the place, it's not a nice environment to be in. Reds4life Posted May 22, 2018 #161 Share Posted May 22, 2018 I don't smoke or drink, but I sure as heck gamble. I can enjoy gambling just fine with someone drinking beside me, but not smoking. Also, I live in Ohio where the casinos (and all indoor public places) are smoke-free. Since 82% of people in the US are non-smokers according to CDC in 2014, business does just fine. Milwaukee Eight Posted May 22, 2018 #162 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Most of the casino staff smoke. :D That is not always true. EN last year was mostly UK dealers and the majority did not smoke. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The smokers last copt out is the Casino would close without them. I think this has proven not to be the case. Rusty Hull Posted May 31, 2018 #166 Share Posted May 31, 2018 We've sailed on RC a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience except for the heavy smoke in the casinos. We're trying Celebrity this March solely because the casino (and most of the ship) is smoke free. Someone recently on FOS told me he'd been told RC is considering going smoke free in its casinos. Has anyone else heard this? Just off Navigator and the Casino is completely non-smoking!!! What a difference this makes. It was a European cruise, not sure if that makes a difference

KelSny1011 Posted May 31, 2018 #170 Share Posted May 31, 2018 Part of me wants to agree with you and say "make it smoke free", but the logical-more frugal side is saying "girl this is a good thing". I'm thinking its kept me from pulling more money out. Lol! Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Ergates The Ant Posted June 1, 2018 #175 Share Posted June 1, 2018 Just on Navigator out of UK. Casino is smoke free, no previous notice given, just not listed on the smoking areas on the Compass! Actually went in! It was really buzzing too! Please note, the promenade deck is smoking on the port side, not starboard, as stated on RCI website.
