Rare MicCanberra Posted February 17, 2018 #101 Share Posted February 17, 2018 If you want to know what is happening on your cruise got to the pool bar. That's where the gossiping nellies hang out drinking their VBs..... Or the smokers, they see all.;p
Rare MicCanberra Posted February 17, 2018 #102 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Australians take more cruises per capita than any other nationality. This means that the cruise lines have lowered the price and tailored the product so that feral bogans now see cruising as something desirable. It doesn’t really matter if they end brawling or assaulting people, the freaks are just nasty to be around, as they tend to be noisy and obnoxious. That’s why I never sail on mass market cruise ships. If you can afford to do that then good luck to you. I tend to move in different circles to that element so while I have heard of and/or seen of some incidents, I have not been involved in anyway and was able to enjoy my cruise as per normal. Esilef Posted February 17, 2018 #104 Share Posted February 17, 2018 The family are apparently the victims here. They are going to their lawyer on Monday. Now I admit it I'm no lawyer nor have I read my cruise contract in detail but I'm pretty sure carnival has access to a lawyer (or two) and they may have contacted their lawyers prior to removing the family from the cruise...... Other guests are being offered a good will offer by carnival. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Poochie71 Posted February 17, 2018 #110 Share Posted February 17, 2018 A lot of violence is alcohol driven , those drink packages encourage heavy drinking,I like a drink but I hate a drunk Cheers They don't have the drink packages on Carnival Australia. windsor26 Posted February 17, 2018 #111 Share Posted February 17, 2018 They don't have the drink packages on Carnival Australia. This behaviour is not really only down to drink The drink would only ascerbate the original poor behaviour of the person concerned. The bogans will misbehave for whatever reason they want We were on a carnival ship to Hawaii which wold continue to Alaska with mostly USA passengers. 2 nights out from Hawaii we were advised that a;ll beer that night was free as the USA people did not like Australian beer and they had lots. Wine was also free and there was loads of both No poor behaviour was seen nor was there any bad language or drunkeness in fact everyone was happy and laughing about the situation . Obviously well mannered or well brought up people to start with and of course there were some 3000 of us
dobiemom Posted February 17, 2018 #112 Share Posted February 17, 2018 It's not just Carnival. Some people were recently disembarked from a P&O ship. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2597627&highlight=Glassing

NSWP Posted February 17, 2018 #116 Share Posted February 17, 2018 IMO 25% FCC is fair compensation. Not all the pax on board 'bumped' into the riff raff.:loudcry: Most probably never even saw them.:o
Esilef Posted February 17, 2018 #117 Share Posted February 17, 2018 As for the actions of the security staff I'm sure that Carnival will undertake a full review of the incidents and implement measures to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Sent from my iPad using Forums I expressed my concern about the behaviour of staff in an earlier post. Kicking people on the ground is not on. In Victoria there has been a huge effort to train and register security staff and bouncers. Part of the reason is the the red mist or whatever has seen people severely injured, and even killed (see Crown Casino case). To my mind, the staff shown to be kicking people should also be charged with assault by our Police.
Rare MicCanberra Posted February 18, 2018 #120 Share Posted February 18, 2018 25% future credit is no compensation for those who will not use Carnival again. That is their choice of course, but I think for a 3 hour delay in Melbourne it is more than fair. For the passengers who missed their flights, there is insurance and this compensation and I am sure that carnival would make sure no one who is not satisfied (out of pocket) with this offer is looked after. PerfectlyPerth Posted February 18, 2018 #122 Share Posted February 18, 2018 Has anyone seen it confirmed that the evicted "family" had their transportation home covered by Carnival from Eden? From what some reports have said - 9 were formally evicted from the ship while the others disembarked of their own accord. I fail to see the logic in the Carnival putting itself out of pocket for the benefit of troublemakers by then paying for their transport home. Personally I think that should be automatically the responsibility of the evicted twits. (Would love to see that argument with their insurance company!!!). I agree, seems absurd for Carnival to pay for a coach - Eden to Canberra, then flights for 24 from CBR to MEL. Should have made their own way. As for travel insurance, some probably had none. Not forgetting the police costs. The big police launch is based at Eden, but Operational Support Group Police would have driven down from Sydney or Wollongong, travelling expenses etc.
