25% future cruise credit is very generous for everyone when only s percentage of the cruisers were affected. They shoulod be happy

I was happy with a recent 15% future cruise given to us when we LOST A DAY of the cruise and EVERY PORT WAS CUT SHORT some by 4 hours. I wonder how they work out what they could/should give as a consolation

I expressed my concern about the behaviour of staff in an earlier post. Kicking people on the ground is not on.

In Victoria there has been a huge effort to train and register security staff and bouncers. Part of the reason is the the red mist or whatever has seen people severely injured, and even killed (see Crown Casino case).

To my mind, the staff shown to be kicking people should also be charged with assault by our Police.

And the lax laws, and offenders having more rights than people in authority certainly hasn’t helped my city - Melbourne. We have increasing incidences of aggravated crimes, violent assaults etc are on the rise, backed up by statistics. Offenders are walking into supermarkets and bottle shops, brazenly stealing stuff, throwing things at the security guards and telling the guards they can do nothing and can’t touch them and how right they are. Our security staff are powerless. They can only talk. No wonder we have these thugs onboard behaving this way. They probably thought they could do as they please and behave how they do at home without any consequences.

I am sure they have a formula to work out what is the least expensive amount for the most amount of good will.

Though has anyone heard of "Zac"? He claims to be part of the family that was disembarked. He says their family are the victims and that it was another family who got angry at their family because someone stepped on someones thong:o and didn't apologise :'). I really hope this guy is taking the piss because otherwise I think that makes the whole thing worst:(

I suppose it depends on the type of thong and where it was stepped on.;p

I agree that once the person was restrained, laying the boot in was going too far. They need to be better than thugs.

But was he restrained? He seemed to be holding someone else down; hence why I'm not judging either way. It's just not clear so far.

I did like the quote

"They called up the mechanical people from down the bottom, the big boys, to intimidate and basically do what they want.". You all remember the "big boys". They're the ones shovelling coal into the boilers.

They certainly needed people with a bit of size and weight behind them.:D

Yes if they had stokers they would sort the mess out, trouble is, no stokers these days. Carnival might have had a few big seamen in disguise though.

Cash never brought class.....

I will drink to that. Some of the nicest folk with class I have met in my lifetime have been struggling for a quid. Some of the worst I have met were 'well heeled bogans.'

I can't believe that house the cars are parked in front of looks like that inside. The levels don't even match:')I suspect a little imaginary license has been taken here;p

It certainly has. On closer reading - it’s not that a well to do suburb. A newer area, possibly a fair distance from the city in the western or northern suburbs. You wouldn’t have bought a house like that for $750, 000k in 2011. The south eastern corridor you would have had to have paid well over a million or the two million dollar + mark or they would have had to buy a long way out. I live 20kms out in the southeastern corridor and you couldn’t even buy a newish townhouse on half a block of land for that price back in 2009/2010.

They look like they would fit in the profile for the northern corridor. Epping, mill park, mernda. New housing estates have created security areas for like minded individuals (I'm being PC).

Yes I live in the "skip" area near there.

To be fair I respect the older generation of those whom immigrated to Australia with nothing but worked hard to make a home for their family here

I don't respect those whom immigrated here but have no respect for others.

Acceptance and respect of others is a positive personality trait.

They were talking about this on the radio tonight. A listener called up and advised that it was the whole group, the women and children as well whom were behaving badly. They were playing the security guards for days and laughing at anyone whom tried to show authority over them. The person advised that it was bad how the security were kicking the guy on the ground but everyone had had enough of them and the security guards are only human.

I have a feeling we will never really know what happened on that ship:confused:. There are so many conflicting stories:rolleyes: Knowing their names though it seems they called the police on themselves:'). Wasn't it a Dave or David Barkho who called the police during the fighting?

Yes it was. They were the ones crying to the media about how they were bashed up on the cruise.

I suspect they are narcissistic. The type of people whom act first & cry when others retaliate.

Expect to hear that they are suing carnival for millions due to their treatment.
