Casino Royale New Tier Program

Recommended Posts

Ok so has anyone sailed so far in April that did not sail last year but did sail from January to March 2018? Wanted to know if they r really denied those points or at least the free drinks. Thanks

So my husband has been ill for the last 5 years and is now at a point where I can at least cruise with him. So we started in January 2018. I earned 3600 points and we have 4 more RC cruises booked through January 2019. So according to this info on this next cruise in May, I would start at -0-? I am quite upset at that. I would at least expect free drinks.

That's correct. No points are counted from January - March. Your next cruise you'll start at zero and go from there.

That's not what I was told.

Points from July 2016-December 2017 will determine your tier for April 2018-March 2019. (18 months)

Points from January 2018-March 2019 will determine your tier for April 2019-March 2020. (15 months)

Thereafter, points from April - March will determine you tier for the following year. (12 months)

I've heard it both ways-1/1/17 to 4/1/18 and 7/1/16 to 12/31/17. If you call Casino Royale, half will tell you one way and half the other. It's getting extremely frustrated that no one knows what's going on. I've asked for clarification from a supervisor I've been emailing and she now just didn't reply.

Call Casino Royle and half will tell you one set of dates and the other half will tell you the other set. I've asked for clarification from a supervisor I've been emailing and she stopped responding. Bottom line is that no one knows. Grrrrr!!!

This is the way I understand it as well.

I have to admit that I am a little confused by the new point system. What if a first time cruiser gets 8000 points? Do I understand correctly that they would not be entitled to any of the casino promotions or benefits until next spring?

They would be entitled to a sticker for drinks and no 5% fee once they reach 1500 points on the cruise they are on, and for the next cruise after.

On Allure now. Checked with casino host for tier level. She said they were using the 18-month period for establishing current level; however, when I asked her for the list of my points she had written down, she had included from July 2016 through March 2018. Anyway, had 24,595 points - grrrrrrrrrr - Prime. Just missed Signature! 😪

She gave me a sheet with benefits and it says "Your tier points always reset to zero on March 31 since tier status must be earned each year to maintain your status for the following year."

When was your recent cruise and what ship were you on. Just curious since that info wasn't available on my recent cruise.

I was on Enchantment 4/27/18. When I went to the casino he had a letter for me telling me what level I am. He also had one for my husband that hardly plays, which put him in the lowest level.

Update: I am back-to-back on Allure. On this second leg my seapass says "Diamond Plus - Signature." So Prime last week and Signature this week! Maybe they had a heart and saw how close I was to 25,000 points? Nah, never. Don't know how the tier changed since it cut off 3/31/18 but I will gladly accept it. The casino host confirmed Signature status. She offered the free Voom but I am already in a suite and get it free. I asked her about automatically maintaining that status once attained and she said they have not decided on that yet.

Yesterday we got off a B2B on the Rhapsody. We had a letter stating that we were Prime members and a chart showing the benefits. We went to the casino and the host put the silver VIP stickers on our cards.

They told us we would be contacted concerning the free cruise.

Happy for you!! I felt for you when I read you missed it by less than 500 points. Enjoy the cruise and good luck in the casino.

  • 3 weeks later...

I know nothing about the casino awards program. I received a letter for 100.00 credit on a cruise when we were on a cruise on 5/19/18. I now have lost the letter. I booked a cruise on 5/25/18. Could that credit be applied to that cruise? What number could I call and ask? Thanks for any help.

It should be able to be applied as long as the cruise is within one year from when you received it. Keep in mind they may also reprice the cruise. 888-859-0015

Thanks for your help. I used MyVegas Rewards for OBC on this cruise. The cruise credit can't be combined with them. Bummer!

Okay, I'm one those people that stopped receiving emails from RCI about three ago. To no avail, I have tried everything I could to resolve the problem. When I called, they said they will mail out my tier level information at any time. That was two months ago. Has anyone received their information via snail-mail?
