Casino Royale New Tier Program

Recommended Posts

Was this on the message you received or was it something that they said on the phone?

Have a friend that is a master and he has not been told when his offer for a cruise will come.

Thanks,

I just called. I either can take $1000 off a cruise or take a Central Park balcony on an Oasis class ship. Or You get a regular OV balcony on the other ships.

I have until 3/31/19 to use it. 8 nights or less.

You won’t get any Casino Royale benefits since you’re using m life benefits. It’s either/or. However, if you gamble a lot on your first few days of the cruise, you may be given free drinks but you’ll have to ask the Casino Host.

I was of the impression Mlife benefits included some on board perks. I can’t see the list but they did seem similar to those posted for casino royal.

Just trying to figure out what they may be as all I’ve had so far is a reduction on my cruise.

Are you saying it’s not even worth bringing my mlife card and making my status known to the casino manager?

Was hoping for the drink sticker and the waiver of cash

Definitely bring your Mlife card! If you are Platinum, you will get perks. See the casino host when they open.

Last year my MLife status was better than my Casino Royale status as I go to Vegas more often. I called Casino Royale and they took my MLife number which raised my Casino Royale status to the same level as MLife. It's worth a try :)

My recent experience on the Anthem: booked Oct 2017 through Casino Royal from special casino pricing email offer.(not free) was told the transaction fee would be waived if I transferred any funds onboard.

Boarded Anthem May 2018. checking in with casion manager night 1. told new plan started April 1. No longer waiving fee for choice tier. really nothing for choice onboard.

Also, because I booked through Casino Royal offer, nothing for MLIFE gold status. (he said they changed that plan too, they discontinued all previous benefits, and just give OBC now).

(Had free drinks and free speciality dinner with Celebrity last October on Equinox for MLife gold).

Ended cruise with 2500 points. got certificate for free inside cabin. Never got any free drinks.

Did contact booking agent at Casino royal and he said the reps on land were not informed of the changes being rolled out onboard. I eventually did get my transfer fee waived as he originally stated I would. Resolved somewhere between Casino manager and land based???

When do you have to sail by? I'm guessing it will be an Obstructive View for Anthem. Are they going to let you upgrade?

Yes, I could upgrade, but I travel solo and have to pay for 2 people to upgrade.

They wanted about $1200 for me to upgrade to a JS by myself.

I received an offer for a free cruise a few weeks ago (paying for air, taxes and fees only).. I booked the Jewel for December 29th. Today I receive and email stating I had made "prime." I was excited to there is a annual "inside cabin" free cruise for Primes. I am wondering if the cruise I booked a few weeks ago counts as the "prime free cruise"? Either way I am grateful.

It can't be used on Christmas or New Year's

So I just called Casino Royale, first off they apparently made a mistake on my email and I'm actually prime tier (and not choice like it was stated in my email). The rep said they screwed up on a bunch of emails that went out were the email stated choice tier but in their system its actually prime tier. Second thing the rep told me was that the annual free cruise that comes with it is separate from those free cruise offers that Casino Royale emails out with a list of cruises. And that the annual free cruise from the tier program can be any itinerary 8 days or shorter as long as it's not a special holiday sailing.

I had the same issue. So did they tell you when and how the correction will be made. I am cruising in two weeks and want the correct benefits.

Thanks M

I sail solo also. I had an offer for a free inside and wanted to upgrade to a balcony. I was told CR doesn't take into consideration my 150% solo rate when upgrading free cruises. They do consider it when using a certificate for dollars off though.

Did they say how much it would be to upgrade from the CP balcony to an ocean view balcony?

I just called to book our "prime" free cruise. And neither my wife nor I are in the system for a free cruise certificate. They have us down as prime, but just not down for the free cruise.

The lady I talked to was as helpful as anyone could be. She could see we were both prime members, but not down for the free cruise certificate. I told her we didn't use it yet, and she said this all just started yesterday. She allowed me to book a cabin with just the port charges and fees. But the cabin is on the invoice for full price. The only thing I paid was the port charges and fees which I can get refunded if anything goes sideways.

The sail date I wanted is in July of 2018, so not much availability.

I was also told that they would give a $500 credit towards any sailing. In lieu of the free cruise. If I wanted to upgrade.

We will see.

Feel free to bring your card but it won’t get you anything. You can either use your M Life or your Casino Royale benefits but not both. When I started cruising frequently, I showed my MLife card (which I use very infrequently) to the Host and was told that because I used a Discount on Royal Caribbean, (diamond balcony discount) the MLife card gave me nothing.

If you and your husband are both Prime - don't you both get a free cruise? Did she say you had to sail before 3/31/19?

Yes we each should get a free cruise for 2, inside cabin. They definitely said it had to be booked and used by March 31, 2019. We both already have enough points for Prime the next year. So we should get 2 more sailings from Apr 2019 and Mar 2020.

This new plan seems tailored to people who cruise often. It works out great for us. If they can get it up and running properly.

CR called this morning and everything went fine for our July 8 Harmony cruise. Plus we were able to upgrade to a suite gty. for $700.

Now I just have to figure where and when (in March) we are going to cruise for the other free cruise.

I was very happy with the response from CR. I really expected them to say they had to research it more etc.

On the Oasis for July solo, they wanted $1208 more for a WS

Add another $108 for 2 for the port charges.

Nope.

Might take the CP balcony.

I'll see what certificate I get on the Anthem next week.

I called today and received word that I was Choice. Somewhat disappointed since over the 18 month reporting period, i took 6 cruises and my play earned free balconies on 5 of those 6. If free cruise cert kicks in at 4800 points, and i earned 5 of them, not sure how i got only 13,000 points toward determining my new status

The email I received said my tier was based off of 12 months. I don’t think they did 18 months like they originally stated.

Have them double check your points. There have been posts where mistakes had been made on tier levels and corrected.

That has to be a mistake. Even one of your cruises would earn you Prime.

Wow, You were able to upgrade to a suite gty from a free inside for just $700. That's a really good deal.

So, I launched an email off to Club Royale today expressing my confusion over their calculations. Additionally, I had my 2017 RC Loss win/loss statement, so I was able to demonstrate to them that to achieve that loss theoretically (actually) over that many cruise days, with a nominal house advantage at craps of 1.5 %, playing 4 hours a night, at 60 rolls per hour....would require $195/roll (pretty close to true) and over $46,000 a night in play. Remembering I cruised close to a month (7 cruises - 27 days) of the 18 month reporting period....and they gave me 13,000 points....mid Prime. Any reduction in the number of rolls or hours/night only increases the $$/roll. 1.5% is a fairly conservative house advantage for craps. Something is wrong......

I'll let you know what they say....but MLIFE (Beau Rivage and Vegas) may be getting more of my action.

If you had 13,000 points between July 2016 and December 2017, then it would be safe to say you should be Prime tier. It doesn't matter how much you spent, etc., it is based on the points you received from the onboard casino. As a side comment, even though it may not apply to you, any points received at a MLife casino are not transferrable and are not used to determine your tier on the ship.

On a cruise earlier this year, there was a couple who was there on a comp'd cruise through MLife and had no points with CR. They questioned why they did not receive the VIP sticker. As soon as they reached 1000 points in the casino, they got the sticker. This was during the 'pilot' rollout in April so I am not sure how the casino hosts will handle these situations in the future. It may be that each casino has their own rules for 'MLife only' guests.

It was explained to me by a CR rep that they do not know how points are calculated on the ship to award the certificates and the casino hosts do not know how CR handles the certificates and our points. It appears to be true.
