Panda3 Posted June 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Hey folks, I have the chance to upgrade from an OV Balcony to a JS for just $440 per person on a 7 day cruise on Oasis of the seas. Would you do it and why? Yes I know we all have different priorities but wanted to hear what folks think. The thing is I'm thinking that's an extra $900 that could go to the casino, spa treatments, or excursions, or just in my pocket. But it is nice to have a Junior Suite with double C&A points and access to Coastal Kitchen. Thoughts? Thank you.
molly361 Posted June 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Too much money. I wouldn't do it. I would do it if it were $440 TOTAL for both of you Sent from my BG2-W09 using Forums mobile app Edited June 25, 2018 by molly361
cb at sea Posted June 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2018 I don't sail in anything lower than JS because I want to be AT LEAST as comfortable on vacation as I am at home....a teensy cabin is like "camping" for me...won't do it. You might not mind the "closeness of a standard balcony...most folks don't mind and are happy to be on a ship, with a balcony! It's all about what's important to YOU! Either way, you will have a fantastic vacation.
reallyitsmema Posted June 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2018 I wouldn't do it either, too much money. The only exception would be if it would move you up to a higher level, like diamond, which would give you more benefits on your next cruise. Panda3 Posted June 25, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Reallyit's Mema - Oh..I should have added, that it would give us 14 C&A points and move us to "Emerald" status, which doesn't seem to do much per the benefits. Setsail - Not sure what the total price is of the suite, because I'm getting the current stateroom comped from Club Royale. Sooo essentially I'm only paying taxes right now for this OV balcony room right now. I guess you could say the price of the Jr. Suite is $440 per person. Me and hubby. I wouldn't take it to move to Emerald, nothing other than a plate of cookies and a tiny bump up in balcony discount. Knowing that you are only paying taxes right now, I would most likely move up to the JS, though a "free" cruise is always a good thing too. BigHouseFootball Posted June 25, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Too much for me. I’d use that money for another cruise, or as you said, spend it on fun onthe ship.

MikeBTN Posted June 25, 2018 #18 Share Posted June 25, 2018 That’s an ok price IMO. Retail is much more, I’m sure. Others here wouldn’t spend the money. Everyone has their own financial thermometer. You will not get double C&A points, so if that’s your major motivation you’ll be sorely disappointed. You do get - priority boarding - dinner access to Coastal Kitchen - much larger stateroom & closet - much larger balcony PS: If this is just an email putting you on a potential upgrade list, very few have actually received the call, so don’t bank on it. For some reason I thought you get double C&A points with a junior Suite. Thank you for clarifying!
