We've been on Caribbean Princess several times and do like the ship ... going on her again in January 2019.

Always enjoy Crooner''s.

For any who smoke/fume ... Churchill's is a comfortable (inside Deck 6) nice friendly place with a real bar & service.

Sailing CB January 2, 2019 for 4th time. Not sure about "inside tips"? We love the CB. New buffet food not great. We won't starve, not as good as it was in 2016. Sabatinis for breakfast was good, but for us, Club Class was better. MDR has some issues for Anytime dinning but not too bad. Good is good. If you don't like your entre, ask for something else.

We enjoy the laid back atmosphere in this ship. Crew has always been awesome. Treat them with respect and they will bend over backwards to make your vacation memberable.

Not true but other than the casino it can be avoided for the most part.

The only unfortunate thing is if you happen to get stuck next to a smoker in the show lounge for a performance where you can't change seats. :classic_sad:

There is no smoking in any show lounge or theater. The only areas where you can smoke on the Caribbean Princess are:

Indoor - Casino when playing and I think it is only slots, some evenings are smoke free, Churchill Lounge this is the only location indoor or outdoor for pipe and cigar smoking, Skywalkers which has a smoking area mainly in the late evening, but sometimes during the day.

Outdoor - Small area on promenade deck 7 starboard aft just before the walkway turns to go around the ship, small area port side next to Tradewinds Bar, small area of Horizon Terrace port side.

Since smoking isn't allowed in the theater, I assume you are referring to the fact that a smoker's clothes may smell of smoke, which to me (as an ex-smoker) is less offensive than the gallons of perfume some folks seemingly pour on before heading to an elevator.

Smoking in the lounge? I think not.

Getting away from smoking comments and back to inside tip suggestions the OP is looking for, we liked the Outrigger area aft overlooking the Terrace Pool.  Several times during our cruise on the Caribbean Princess, we would bring food outside from the buffet, order a drink from the bar and enjoy the aft view and people-watch.

THAT sounds like a plan!

Exactly.

We get there early to get seating and sometimes get that heavy smoker who sits close enough to choke everyone around them with the stench of smoke on their clothing.

To bad they don't give those smokers a separate venue to go to where they can telecast the show.

Nope.  Outdoor smoking areas and a smoking lounge.  I believe the only Princess cruises that are smoke free are the ones that sail out of Australia.

We left the CB on Sunday after a 14 day cruise.  On our cruise there was not a lot of smoking in the casino and a number of nights it was smoke free.  For the first performance in the theater, they simulcast it in the Explorer's Lounge which was a nice touch.  The HC is now the world fresh market (WFM) and the layout has been completely redesigned.  The Caribe in the aft area of the old HC is now Steamers on the starboard side and Planks on the port side.  At lunch both were open and free.  They had a wok station there where you pick you ingredients (vegetable, meat or fish) and noodles then give it to them to cook.  We went there several times.  Our favorite place at night was the Wheelhouse bar where they had a 2 piece band alternating during the night with a single guitar player.  Both were very good.  The lady guitar player was from Ireland but left the ship on Sunday.  The CB is now fully using OM which was nice because I never had to use it to unlock our cabin door.

We love that area on each ship. We too take our buffet meal outside and have a drink at the Outrigger and especially love to head there as soon as we embark. Wonderful place to start the cruise!
