Our last  3 cruises on equinox out of Miami they had the special luggage drop off; The last cruise in Nov 2018 they werent yet ready for us to drop luggage (at 10:30) but at least there was someone there to take it and then arrange to escort us in;

We sailed on Silhouette Mar 23, 2019 out of Fort Lauderdale and they had no idea what to do with RS/PS luggage; However they called over someone who knew to escort us in and it was a breeze... Downside is luggage didnt show up til well after muster, and we werent the only RS lacking luggage..

We were on the March 3rd cruise on the Silhouette in the PH and were told by the shoreside concierge that there was a “special” drop-off area for RS/PH luggage with an entrance right at the drop-off for us to check in.  Just like you, no one knew what we were talking about. Our driver was directed to 3 different areas and everyone looked at us like we had 2 heads.  Finally one young man had the driver pull to the side, unloaded our luggage and assured us it would be in our cabin right away.  He had us follow him to the main entrance (which seemed to be the only one) and once inside we were directed to the suite checkin area.

We boarded at 11:30am, our luggage arrived between muster and sail away (about 4 hrs later 🙄

We sailed on Reflection from T-25 in Ft. Lauderdale in November. The shore side concierge sent a very detailed description and photo of the suite's area luggage drop off.  It is right at the door to the terminal. The only issue we had was the port staff trying to direct our driver further down the road.  The driver stopped near the entrance and had out luggage out of the trunk in about 10 seconds. Our luggage arrived in the room shortly after we did.

I'm wondering if they will offer this service in Seward Alaska.

Or Bayonne

In Bayonne, the Special Delivery drop off location is on the sidewalk literally right in front of the door to enter the terminal.  The area is set up on the sidewalk around 10:45 am/11:00 am.  If my memory serves me correctly, I believe the area is around #6 (there are numbers above each drop off area).  I believe if you arrive while the ship is still disembarking passengers the guys directing traffic will try to direct your car to a drop off area located at the very end of the drop offs because the other areas are probably filled with folks/suitcases disembarking.  We always carried the attached picture (which the shoreside concierge sent to us) to show the pier workers if there was any problem.  We usually arrive between 10:30 am and 11:00 am and the pier porter was standing on the sidewalk right next to the sign.  He will ask for your name to check against the list he has.

Sailed three times with this service all in a Royal Suite.   No difference in the time we received our luggage, certainly not priority.   I expected priority handling like we gettraveling business/first class on United.   Ours are always in the first ten off of the plane.   I guess Celebrity does not store them in a special area to be delivered first.   This should include the Celebrity Suites as you pay much more than Sky Suites for zero benefits.

I'm not sure if they have it in Seward or not.   There isn't much of a terminal there.   We had a pre-cruise land tour to Denali.    When we arrived at the Terminal the tour director summoned us and told us they had a Celebrity representative waiting for us and would escort us to check in.   Since our luggage was on the tour bus we just left and it was delivered shortly thereafter.

I am in a Royal Suite on the Reflection out of Fort Lauderdale on March 11 and received an email alerting me to the "Special Delivery" at the pier.  As has been previously stated they take your bags at this area where you are then escorted through security and check in.  Their goal as they stated to me is to have your bags at your suite shortly after the room is ready.

How did that work out for you?  We are sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale next weekend and wondering where this "Special Delivery" area is at the pier.  We will be dropped off by taxi so want to make sure he drops us at the correct location.

Didn’t the Shoreside Concierge provide you an explanation and map? I received a map explaining the program.  It did not work for us.

Which terminal are you using?

What didn't work.   I had a problem with it in Barcelona.     I showed up at the VIP desk with my luggage and she just said follow me.    Next thing i knew I was carrying my bags all the way to Michael's club.

My Shoreside Concierge for Infinity told me she would be sending us detailed instructions and map for our cruise departing from T25.    She did indicated the special VIP drop off is right at the entrance to the terminal.

No she didn't but I'll be calling her Monday about it.

Whatever terminal Silhouette is using.

My SSC indicated she waits to send out the final e-mail describing the drop off for Royal Suites and above until she knows for sure which terminal is being used.    BTW -  Silhouette doesn't have a regular terminal.    Terminal assignment depend on which ships are in port and my understanding is Edge get's first priority.

If you are on 4/14 Silhouette you will be using Terminal 29 as Edge is also sailing that day and has the new T25 terminal.

In January on the Silhouette, the  Edge was in port using T25.  I suspect the program works well with that terminal.

We were at a different terminal. The map shows an area past the regular luggage drop off and entrance, but it was not obvious or visible. No one at the terminal knew anything about it.  It may have been related to the fact that we arrived fairly early.  There were still some people getting out of the area from the previous cruise.  It was no big deal.

It also did not work in Honolulu last October, but it was not busy.  (Also no sign like they said and no one was around)

We thought it might be nice to get our luggage quickly once on the ship.  We really do not feel settled in until  we have unpacked.  What a great feeling.

It will be interesting to see if it works for you in terminal 25.

Jim, we were posting at the same time.  Perhaps the map was incorrect.

I'll post the instructions I receive.   I would think that I will be receiving them late next week.

Thanks for your help, will still contact the shoreside concierge as while she has been very nice in our phone conversations she has yet to verify anything through email.

Like you we'd love to get our luggage early!!!

T-25 worked great for us in November. I though I still had the picture the Shore Side Concierge sent but I can't find it on my computer.  In any event, it was just outside of the entrance doors.  T-25 has 2 sets of doors adjacent to each other.  The suites entrance is right next to the building. Regular entrance is beside it adjacent to the driveway. There was a staff person checking names and a porter loading luggage onto a cart.  Everything happened so fast we didn't' have a chance to tip him.

Seward Alaska is likely to be different.  Last time we sailed from Seward after our own land tour the taxi dropped us at a small shack where they were checking in luggage.  We left ours and walked over to the terminal.  I don't know if the terminal had a luggage drop off or not. Regardless, our next Alaska cruise we will be doing our own land tour prior and will get to the port from the hotel early enough that all will be good.:classic_biggrin:
