no, oasis will not be doing bermuda.  Adventure will be taking over the current anthem schedule, 9 day caribbean (or canada) interspersed with 5 day bermuda.  Oasis will be doing 7 day bahamas sailings (Oasis class cannot navigate the channel into bermuda).

Steve

I didn't say Oasis was doing Bermuda. I meant Oasis coming to Bayonne causing changes.  Didn't know Adventure was doing the Anthem schedule. But it sucks that it appears that Celebrity won't be doing much to Bermuda.

The agent said no other Celebrity ship would be taking over the Aug/Sep Bermuda runs from Bayonne.  That is such a bummer.  Especially the last Summit run to Bermuda from Bayonne was an annual favorite for many, many people, especially because there were no bratty kids on board.

This was one of our favourite cruises.  We loved the fact you could drive to the port, have 2 sea days then 3 days in Bermuda. Too bad...

Its basically the same cruise except you don't get two sea days in the beginning, you get a day in Newport and then a day at sea.

The one thing I learned from this thread is that Celebrity is damned if they do and damned if they don't: if they don't shake up their itineraries, the people get mad; while if they try something truly new and unique for Celebrity, people cry that they don't offer the same options as before.

Although I sympathize with those who would like to Bermuda in August and September, I for one am really excited that they put the New York to Dublin, and Dublin to Boston runs on the Summit - it's something new and unique, and an itinerary I'm seriously considering (although the price is a little out there... but, what Celebrity cruise in the 2020/2021 deployment isn't?... Just give it time and they'll all come down as they normally do unless it's a highly sought after itinerary).

So true, I was upset at first than I looked at the itineraries and realize they were being quite creative and giving more options to those who  like to said out of New Jersey.

One thing that this thread did solve is the repeated rumors of an S. class ship coming to NJ to take over the Bermuda run.

I still remember the great Bermuda runs, 1 day down and 1 back, four days in Bermuda.

That is what I want. Bermuda cruises, not Bermuda and Newport.

I almost booked Summit for Bermuda in August 2019 but I found a sailing the same week on Oceania that does St.Georges and Hamilton. The price was  close so I am trying out Oceania. Reliving the past.....

I agree with you re NY/Dublin and Dublin/Boston; it's great to see Celebrity adding some new and interesting itineraries.

Don't be too sure about those prices coming down, though.  Those cruises are very unusual TAs that not only have port calls in Greenland and Iceland, but also cruise the spectacular Prins Christian Sund.  I'm not defending the pricing, but doing a cruise like this on other cruise lines is also pricey.  BTW, if you are interested in an itinerary like this, you should also look at HAL's Viking Passage (we did that this summer and it was fabulous) and their Voyage of the Vikings.  Even more ports than Celebrity.

Yes, that is correct. Our last sailing in August 2018 was 98%+ booked.

bon voyage

98% booked does not mean its super profitable.  They are gonna move the ship to where they think they will make the most money...

Don't know if you have ever done that trip but the bars are full, casinos very active and the casino's are open while docked  in Bermuda.

We're disappointed that there are no more seven days to Bermuda in May in 2020 (before the kids get out of school.) We have a hard time leaving our business (and our four legged kids) for more than a week.  We'll figure something out. 2019 will be our fifth cruise on the Summit to Bermuda.  This may force us out of our comfort zone 😋.

Yes, there are a couple of interesting ones, they are adding Charleston also.   Leave Bayonne, Newport next day then an overnight in Charleston, then over to Bermuda, 10 days total.

We booked this Summit  itin for May 2020...looks  great!

I was  helping someone look for  cruise and stumbled upon it...great itinerary ...it was part of today's sale...good pricing  2 perks..select dining

Really looking forward to it!

We're looking at those too, its really great for us since our daughter is a half hour from the port,   If you need any help, very familiar with the port and airport, etc.   The only negative I see is that the weather at that time can be a bit cool.

I for one am loving these new options on Summit out of Bayonne. I turn 50 in 2020, and have been dying for some kind of longer trip to celebrate the event that will take me to some destinations that are on my bucket list, or at least new to me. Due to various reasons, I'm more or less "stuck" with sailing out of Bayonne for the foreseeable future, so when I saw the 14-night Summit itinerary to Greenland and Iceland, ending in Dublin (where my wife has extended family we could visit afterward) my jaw hit the floor at my unbelievable good luck!

Yes, it's an expensive itinerary. I can only afford a pair of balcony cabins for me and my girls, even with the great agent I have; otherwise I'll have no budget for excursions or staying a few extra days in Dublin!

To those who've been complaining about the change in itineraries, feel free to blame it on me. Seems fate decided to throw a couple of good cards my way for that year! 😉

We booked the June 6 Newport-Charleston-Bermuda cruise.  Totally thrilled with this new itinerary.

Suzanne, there are still some 7 day Bermuda cruises with the added bonus of Newport.

Sorry we,ll miss you again..

We booked May..

But what a great itin! Awesome...and great prices and perks compared to EDGE!
