If at the tables we shares  with the table and tip the dealer.  Last time I hit $1000 I gave all the players $25 and I had bet for the dealer so it was an automatic tip.

What game were you playing? I have never heard of tipping other players, but have tipped the dealer.

Playing 3 card on Celebrity.  Other players said they had never been given money on a win.  Maybe it is Southern Thing😀.  We have gotten money from other lucky players on NCL and Carnival before.

I hear they do this even at bingo halls across San Diego County. $2 to each person sitting nearby the winner is typical and is believed by the superstitious to ensure further good luck.

I place bets for my dealers always so if I am winning they are winning. If I am loosing in many cases they still make tips. They appreciate any tip or bet you make for them. If you play slot machines don’t give anything to anyone.  If you win you are lucky

If I ever won a dollar, much less more than one thousand dollars in the casino, I would figure Hades had frozen over solid and life as we know it would soon end.

A few months back I was on a table where a guy got up to 3k after starting with $100. He gave everyone at the table $25 a couple times during his run. Dealers probably got a couple hundred.

I can’t speak for ship but at land based casinos slot attendants rely on tips just as dealers do.

Last year I won 6K playing slots on the Glory, Haven't won that much before playing slots, so I just asked. I was told $100 would be great. I was thinking more, so I gave it to him. I did see him give the tip to someone else to put in the pot to be split amongst casino crew. Last month on the Horizon, I won 3K and $2880- which I tipped I think $50 and then the $80, they seemed happy with that.

As for table I only play blackjack and roulette. The person who taught me how to play blackjack, always tips $1-2 per hand, so that's something I have always done. My friend I travel with now thinks I am crazy but I can't help it. lol- Good Luck!

DH always puts down amounts for the the dealers when he is winning while playing craps, blackjack, and 3 card poker and they are very appreciative even if the hands don't win.. He won $1000 on a 3 card poker hand on HAL a few years ago and he already had an amount out he was playing for the dealer - the dealer won $300. The pit boss had to bring her a paper bag because she was hyperventilating! He tips while playing, not after winning hands. He has never tipped other players when he has won big hands - never thought of doing it and has never see it after 47 cruises (I asked him) I play slots and when I have won a hand pay amount, I would never have thought to tip the person paying me off.

I was fortunate enough to hit a good hand and tipped the dealer 200 and each player 50.

must have been a really good hand, 8 players and the dealer got $600, very generous. I have been gambling for over 40 years and have never seen a player tip a player.

On Craps...sometimes the "roller" is tipped...happened to my hubby when a man was betting BIG and hubby kept rolling his number!  It's totally up to you, tho.  That's the ONLY time I've seen that happen!

Most table games, you can put a bet on the table FOR the dealer....if you win, so do they!  Or, you can tip a bit as you go along, or leave a bit when you leave the table.  It's not mandatory, and again, that's up to you.  Some do, some don't.

On slots, if you win something large enough to be "hand-payed", then $10-50 (depending on your win) is nice....but not mandatory.

Just like every other person you tip,  the tips are pooled in the casino, so no tip goes directly to your dealer.  ALL dealers on that shift divide their tips among that shift.

I do not understand the protocol for tipping at a casino. If you pay to play, why tip?

To place a tip for the dealers at the Craps table there are several ways.

Not explaining in great detail ... but this should give you some idea:

When you place your bet, put the amount you want to tip them if you win BESIDE your bet.   If you win they win.

Another is to sort of toss  (just say 4 $1 chips could be any amount)  and say "cover the hard ways for the dealers".

Actually, you can place a bet anyplace on the board you want for the dealers ... just say "for the dealers".

I play craps and often place bets for the Dealers, such as the hard ways.  And win or lose, I try to tip something when I leave the table, obviously more when I'm winning than when I'm losing.  Always a pleasure when the Dealers win too.

The way it works at land based casinos I’m familiar with is dealers and slot attendants get at least minimum wage...but not much more. Then they get tips. The tips (tokes) for table games let’s say...are pooled and divided by the number of hours all of the dealers worked that pay period. That gives them the toke rate which is added to their regular rate. Depending on the week they could make $15/hr....they could make $30/hr.

Slot attendants do the same thing but usually make less in tips than dealers.

I would guess for the same reason you tip a waitress/waiter.  It would be like saying, "I pay to eat, why tip?"

I won $2400 on a slot on the Breeze.  I tipped the person paying it out $200 & $100 to the person (supervisor?) who was there with this person.  I figured anything over $1000, I should tip at least 10 - 15%?  Guess it depends on what you're comfortable with.  I've seen people win $1500 - $2500 and never tip at all.

A waiter does a service-taking orders, bring food, clearing dishes, etc. If I am sitting at a slot machine nobody is providing a service. Admittedly, I do not play table games or know the ends and outs of gambling but it seems that tipping may imply that the dealer is helping you win.

Yes, the dealers love it when tips are placed for them!
