The Fun Researcher Posted December 28, 2018 #33 Share Posted December 28, 2018 RCCL doesn't really have anything that I would consider a good deal for drinks. Back 3-4 years ago they jacked up the prices so extremely that even the "deals" you'll find now are more costly than what drinks used to be full cost. (and that's adjusting for inflation) Dan

drneal Posted December 29, 2018 #40 Share Posted December 29, 2018 I just got off the Mariner of the seas. Its been about 10 years since I’ve been on royal Caribbean. The alcohol prices have gone way up. having said that they did not charge me a corkage fee in the main dining room when I brought my own wine and beer was about $8. My wife would get white wine for $15 a glass which seemed high. As for the mixed drinks we found them too sweet so we would split one cocktail and add a shot into each half so we would have half the juice/mix and 2-3 x the alcohol which made for a great drink and a shot is about 2/3 the price of a mixed drink. I didn’t find too many drink specials but I wasn’t really looking. The store had free tastings most nights but for $8 get a beer.

Looking into doing a quick 3-4 night cruise, but without the drink package. I have always had a drink package so I have never paid attention to drink prices and specials very much. Since this cruise is short and we plan to spend more time in Nassau we decided that the package won't be worth the price, if anything we'd break even.We will of course bring on the allotted wine (2 per cabin?), but are there places on board that offer "happy hours" or specials? I remember I saw on a compass once that there were $1 mimosas in the casino from 12-1pm or something one day. I'm looking for things like this. Also, what are current drink prices like? We are looking at the Mariner for April 2019. Thanks!! Try yoga before you go. Practice yoga and meditation instead of alcohol. Could be a life changing experience. 12 plus years for me. But if you have to have it —wrap your liquor up as a present and if and when caught explaining its a present for your significant other. Worked many years ago around Xmas time 12 packs bud light! robandana Posted January 1, 2019 #50 Share Posted January 1, 2019 Many ships have a 10 drink card you can buy a few days into the cruise, it was $75 for 10 drinks which if you ordered $12-$14 Martinis was an awesome deal. The buy 4 and get 5 beers buck is not a bad deal. Drink of the day was $8.95 so like $2-$3 off the regular price. Some ships have full bottles of wine specials on the last few days, usually at the entrance to the dining room at lunch time. They offer like half price on some bottles and the send the bottle to your dinning table if you want.
