Electrical outlets AND USB ports on Crown

We are new to Princess. Will be on the Crown in June. Booked in a Mini-suite.  Wondering about the position of the outlets and if they are two or three prongs. Also, are there any dedicated USB ports in the room. Will be two adults and two teenagers so lots of electronics. Thanks.

Two 3-prong US outlets on the desk. They are close together so a "wall wart" charger will block the second one.  Possibly one behind the TV. No USB ports.

 

Take a cord or adapter. Make sure whatever you take DOES NOT have surge suppression. Ships are different than land.

Just off the Ruby (sister ship to Crown).  I tried to plug an extension cord in behind the new television in an interior cabin.  My arms were too short to reach behind.  You really needed to be a contortionist.  I had a usb power cube and that worked well.

I was able to put my camera charger on the wall outlet behind the TV.  I had to stand on a chair and really contort to get there, but if you have teenagers, it shouldn't be a problem!

We were on the Crown Princess last November and what you see in the photo is all there is (other than what is behind the TV which is basically non reachable).  No USB ports. The outlet in the bathroom is for shavers only.

If the ship has had a recent refurbishment, the newer lamps on the bedside tables have 1 USB plug each.

Yeah I thought I read a post from someone off the Crown that said they had the USB/lamps on their cruise.

We were on the Crown in March and I don't remember plug ins on the lamps.   I'm pretty sure they weren't there.

Gosh I hope someone can clarify this. It would be great if there were ports on the lamps.

It may be that they replace the lamps as needed, and the replacements have the USB ports.  EM

That could be, because our lamps were definitely not new!  As a matter of fact, they were slightly loose on the tables.

Both of those cruises we had the "swipe" screens (the precursor to get the OM set up). Did your ship have the screens?

It can also be used to charge a battery for cameras or other digital devices.

 

It is designed for low voltage uses and charging a battery works well.

 

Please note it is two-pronged and for non-polarized plugs.

No, the Crown did not have the swipe screen on our March 27th cruise

There is a youtube video of the 2017 refurb of the Star and it shows USB port on the bedside lamp.
