We'll be on our first cruise as Elite [I hate that word] in September on the Summit, with a couple of tender ports.  From the list of Elite perks, priority tendering seems to be one of them.  If someone would please explain how that works, or whether it varies from ship to ship, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

Elite & Elite+ gather in the assigned place (Deck Four MDR often) and are escorted by Captain’s Club Host/Hostess to the head of the landing down to the tender. The ones on Celebrity excursions are meanwhile boarding a different tender from a different area.

The CC host will let us know the evening before where and time to meet. We've received phone messages left on our stateroom phone and written messages left in our stateroom. No problem. Just follow me. 😉

We’ve always stuffed as many items as we could into the bag, never, ever counted them. Our last cruise on Celebrity was one year ago, has this changed since June 2018 to 20/30 items?

It has been 20/30 items for Elite for as long as I can remember.  Celebrity also offers a by the bag special price (now $50) for as much as you can stuff into one bag.

Thank you both.

Dave, I’ll be right behind you. 😉

No assumption. Spouse will get the same tier level as the other spouse. Even if it's the spouses first cruise.

Do I understand correctly that everyone traveling in the same stateroom will receive the benefits of the CC member with the highest status?  I achieved Elite status with my last cruise, and for my upcoming cruise I'm traveling with a friend (not my spouse) who does not have status.  If not individual benefits/coupons like laundry, etc., I assume we would both be invited to the cocktail hour & coffee lounge?  Or that I would receive an invitation for 2?  Thanks for helping me understand this.

Your friend will also receive the same benefits if in the same cabin as you, yes. It isn't limited to spouses.

I don't think that's correct.  The person in your stateroom will be invited to elite events, but I don't think they get the other perks and benefits, like the laundry, the internet discount etc.

That's what I thought I'd read on here. I have only ever traveled with DW who is also Elite though. I'm sure I'll be corrected very soon if I'm wrong. :)

FYI... I have had new white cotton tee shirts of my DH come back with holes, I wouldn't recommend sending to celebrity laundry any delicate or valued clothing

For us it's one bag for dark socks and dark underwear and the other bag for white socks and white underwear. We don't send anything else to be washed.

Your only invitation for your cruise is the letter you receive in your stateroom outlining your elite benefits, events, time and places on the first day. Your friend will be allowed to join you in the Sky Lounge in the evening for drinks and snacks and the elite breakfast in the Tuscon Grille. No laundry, internet minutes and other CC perks/benefits including no pre-loaded CC HH voucher drinks loaded on their Seapass card to be used at other bars that you get for being elite.

your cabin mate needs to see the CC host on day one . A new card will be issued for them which says Elite and allows access to the cocktail hour and the breakfast . No laundry internet or other discounts. They will be allowed priority tendering if it is available. Basically they get an 'admission card'

Is the World Class Bar included in the loaded Elite Seapass drinks

You can't use your CC HH drinks loaded on your Seapass card at the World Class Bar, MDR or room service.

I've always wondered about this idea of using separate bags for white and dark clothes. Do they really keep them separate when they wash them with everybody else's stuff? After all, most people don't keep them separate. Do they sort through the laundry and separate lights and darks before throwing them into those huge industrial washing machines?  Perhaps someone who's taken one of those behind-the-scenes tours that includes the laundry facilities can answer that...

Our understanding is the laundry puts your clothes in separate tagged (stateroom number) laundry bags that go in a big industrial washing machine with everyone else's tagged bagged clothes. Dark's in one machine and lights in another machine. We've always gotten back exactly what we've sent and no discoloring or damage. But again we only send socks and underwear.

We've always gotten back exactly what we sent with no discoloring or damage. We send more than just socks and underwear. We've sent it in separate bags (dark and white) and together in the same bag. No difference.

We have separated our laundry in 2 bags light or dark.  Came back done nicely.

But dry cleaned new Chico’s slacks were shrunken by the dry cleaning.  And they came back shorter.  Luckily I could still wear them and they actually looked better as “ankle pants”.  🙂🌴🌈

Just FYI, It’s not “Plus” as in addition, it’s or. In other words, free bag or 2 items pressed or one item dry cleaned. Coupon is applied to first item submitted.

It is free bag, dry cleaning item & 2 press. If you are still on board get your Captains Club host/hostess to get that fixed

Actually, it's 30 items, whether it goes into one or five bags (20 on some shorter sailings), one dry cleaning item, and 2 press items per Elite member.  I sent in my one dry cleaning item as "One Tux" and that worked.  🍷

I repair those large machines, they will mark the clothes with a tag, then put them in a laundry net bag then throw them in the machine together, possibly a 60c wash then put them in the drier on a hot dry as all steam operated so not a lot of temperature control. So dont send any delicates or runny colours, you can hand wash them or not bother

  • 3 weeks later...

I didn't realise that spouses were given status matches until I checked my account last week and saw that I was Elite! I also didn't realise that it was a status match until I looked on here.

We've cruised together over the past 10 years around 6 times but I've never had the same status. We aren't married so I'm assuming that they've all of a sudden just realised that we are spouses??
