First time on Celebrity

Hello everyone!  My name is Pam and my husband is Dave, I am sorry if my questions have already been answered on this forum but I looked back a few pages and couldn't find them posted already.

We are Diamond on Royal Caribbean and I hear my perks will transfer to Celebrity.  Can someone explain to me what to expect.  Will we have access to a lounge?  Will we have drinks loaded on our card?  What can I expect on Celebrity that is different than Royal Caribbean?  Do people dress for dinner more than on Royal Caribbean?  My husband like to bring his tux, will he feel out of place?  Thanks in advance!

BTW, we just needed a nice relaxing beach cruise with lots of time to watch the ocean from our balcony.  We booked the Equinox out of Fort Lauderdale, November 16, 2019.

I believe you will be Elite on Celebrity.  You would have to go on Celebrity's website and look up Captain's Club benefits to see what is available.

There are no longer true "formal" nights on X.  They call it "Smart Chic".   Our last cruise was a 15 day TA leaving from Southampton and we saw very few tuxes.  Hubby wore a long sleeved dress shirt, no tie and was dressed appropriately.   He was very happy not to have to pack a suit, sport coat or tux.

I stuck with black slacks and an assortment of sparkly tops.

Hi we are on the same cruise. We are diamond on RCL and that transfers as elite on celebrity. There are a variety of perks and I believe there might be a happy hour drink perk, but no special lounge. We always have the drinks pkg so have not used that perk. I believe the elite internet perk translates to a 30 percent discount on the unlimited internet plan if you buy it on board. That is pretty much the only perk we have really used. I also think there may be one or two Captain’s cocktail party type events for elite too. As far as  “Chic” nights are concerned, now that the rules are relaxed, DH just wears one of his silk Tommy Bahama shirts and khakis rather than the jacket he used to wear and is a very happy camper because of it. You will see everything from jackets, long sleeve shirts, polos and khakis, a few tuxes and even kilts.

You might want to contact Captains Club to ensure that your status is reciprocated (it doesn’t transfer). You will be Elite. The website has the most up to date benefits. You will get beverages (from a restricted menu) from 5-7 at most bars as well as (likely) the Sky Lounge. You will get 90 minutes (each & not consecutive minutes) of internet & each get a bag of laundry, 2 item pressed & 1 item dry cleaned. These are the most important things to us. Welcome to Celebrity

Welcome aboard flute of sparkling wine during embarkation.  No inside smoking  including the casino or on balconies, no rock climbing walls, no flow rider, no ice skating rink, no QUEST. You will be elite with "0" Captain Club points. Call the Captains Club at 1-800-760-0654 to verify your status is documented. No 24 hour dedicated CC HH lounge for elite and elite plus. CC HH is from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Sky Lounge except the evening of embarkation. Unlimited CC HH drinks loaded on your Seapass card (except for the first evening) to enjoy at the bars except at the World Class Bar. CC HH drinks are not served in the dining venues.  No buffet set up (like on RC) during CC HH in the Sky Lounge but servers serve snacks along with taking drink orders. Like RC you will receive in your stateroom a full list of all elite perks for your cruise.  We enjoy cruising with both Celebrity and RC. We like the similarities and differences between the two cruise lines.

Thank you everyone!  I am looking forward to trying Celebrity.  I did call and they gave me our new Captain's Club numbers.  We had a less than good experience on our last RCCL cruise we booked, we ended up cancelling it before we even went.  I am looking forward to having the benefits we have earned and was not looking forward to RCCL again after that experience.

It is hard to describe the difference between the two lines but simply we feel the focus on Celebrity is ‘rest and relaxation’ compared to ‘action and activities’ on RC.

As Jelayne says, on boarding there will be a letter in your room. Keep it safe because there are no reminders and it is easy to forget things. Sometimes there are  events you need to confirm you wish to attend. If you have not experienced before the theatre tour, wine tasting event and afternoon tea can be enjoyable.

Hope you have a fantastic cruise!

As others have mentioned, there will be pages of information about the Elite benefits in your cabin. Be sure to read both sides of the pages since they are normally double-sided.

You will likely find some of the Elite benefits on Celebrity to be better than those on RC, and find other benefits to be of lesser value than those on RC.

Yes, it is appreciated.  I did a search before asking my questions, I am sorry if I am duplicating.  Hopefully, I will one day be the one answering questions on Celebrity.
