I certainly understand your frustrations, but what else can Carnival communicate?  They don't know.  CDC is running the show now.  According to previous information, it's going to be at least a couple more hours (after 6pm pst) before they know something.  Then, they have to start disembarking the guests, then clean, then start the boarding process.  I hate to say it, but my guess is it will be another four or five hours before you can arrive at the terminal, if at all tonight.  I agree with a previous poster, grab a hotel room.  Even if you don't stay there for the night, at least you have someplace comfortable to rest for a few hours.  I wish you well and hope your mother-in-law is doing OK.

They could tell us to get a hotel room because the soonest we can realistically leave is tomorrow. They could tell us that if anyone wants to cancel, they will issue a full refund. There are people that have been told it is too late to cancel and take them up on the future credit and there is no one to call. Our agent says she was on hold for two hours and then disconnected. I think they could have told us some of these things hours ago.

I have 6 people in the car and need a few hotel rooms. It is a big expense (to us)that we have not budgeted; we will do it if we need to, but it is hard to pull the trigger when Carnival just keeps dragging it out. If they would have said a few hours ago that there is no chance we leave tonight, we would already be in a hotel. But they just keep saying to wait.

But the luggage collection and sorting is a huge operation. If it has been returned then it will need to be recollected and sorted before guests can disembark. That's an additional several hours of work/delay. If they anticipated them getting off in the next few hours, there is no way they would have touched checked bags. At least, that's my opinion.

That's my thought exactly.  No matter when the tests results come back tonight, at the very least it would seem much less likely that the current passengers get to disembark AND new passengers embark tonight.

If it were up to Carnival, it would have been over long ago.  Try saying this with me C D C.

Just saw Emma we can quash the rumor I heard

in the guy burger line that she’s walking around with the protection of six security guards....its

only five.

Wow.  Well, they did have fights break out on the ship that wasn't allowed into several European ports...it's not an unrealistic measure (unfortunately..and I hope it's all for nothing)

Edit:  You big tease.

I just saw a letter from Carnival on another thread here saying they are opening the Queen Mary ballroom for Panorama passengers waiting at the terminal. Here is the link

Yep, typing the fact that one company's loss is another company's gain as I read your comment.  I was going to say I wonder how much additional business the QM has/will receive today and tonight?

The CDC hasn’t charged me anything for the cruise 😉

My credit card has been charged for the full cheers package, they have already put the hold on it for incidentals and I racked up a big bill at lunch and am looking at another bill for two hotel rooms. That is just today. The 3 Havana rooms are already paid for before today.

I am a big Carnival fan and turn gold on this cruise. I just feel like they could have made a call at noon to help their customers when the CDC told them they needed to test the patient and minimum delay was 6 hours.

That doesn’t apply to us, because the terminal and parking is closed right now. We are sitting in a parking lot in Anaheim. That does help the people that were at the terminal for 4+hours before this email went out.

Same here. We are 1.5 hours outside of the terminal at my friends home.

Stay safe.

I've been totally glued all afternoon, even checking it on my phone while out running errands.  That said, I've been kind of embarrassingly obsessed the past 10 days or so.  Two weeks ago I spotted a great casino offer and booked..then about two days later the freak out began.  I just went to England in January and it was so early in things then it didn't even cross my mind to be worried.  Sigh..PUHleeeeeze cruise gods, let this all chill the F out by May 3.

Greg..thanks for keeping us posted!!  I'm totally invested in watching you get off that ship!

Same here about being glued to this all day, checking for updates. I have a B2B booked and leaving April 5 on the Magic, and half the roll call is freaking out, and the other half, myself included, are going ahead and going to enjoy our cruise.

Hoping you get some good news soon.  I know it's easy for us to comment without being in your shoes, but I know if it were me I wouldn't be happy either.  No matter how you look at it, it just sucks.

Until they say jump, nothing happens.  Not.carnival, CDC. Cannot say it planner than that.  They have no control once officials said stop. They can call anyone they want.
