For a) perhaps they don’t want to announce it so the press doesn’t go camp out there.  As for c) that decision probably rides on the results of further testing.  Based on the numbers there could be several different plans.

for a) Are you suggesting that even the passengers will not be told where they are going until they get there? (If they are told, soon the whole world will know)

for c) It sounds as if there is no plan at all if they cannot say what will happen to those who test negative. Chances up to 80% or more of the passengers will be negative. If they do not have a plan, say so.

There is no transparency for this on what the government will do or not so or when they will decide what to do.

With your apparent exposure concerns on board, are you now in self quarantine?

will certainly limit outside exposure to others.

the issue is more about the lack of any efforts by the cruise line to limit uri cases on board. total action has been business as usual with no real change in effort to limit risk to customers, even with the the experiences that they have already faced.

Meanwhile, until they make a decision, and bring the Grand into a port, the passengers are at greater risk.
Whilst at sea they are still having their food prepared and delivery by crew members, who could be asymptomatic but still infected.

Outside of requiring passengers to stay six feet apart, cancelling all entertainment, not having shore excursions where people would be in close contact, and closing any dining venue where people would be near each other, what would you suggest they do.

So, this is funny... Princess has already sent out the email survey asking how our cruise was 😳

Ooops. Someone forgot to notify IT to stop the auto send email job

Does anyone know where this picture was taken, what pier? I cannot tell from the picture, I am on land at pier 40 in SF

That would be pier 27 San Francisco.  Right across the street from Fog City Diner.

There is absolutely no reason to take The Grand out of commission.   The virus won't live on the ship without people and it will be easily decontaminated.  It is PEOPLE that are the problem, not the ship.

We have sailed on her 3 times, the last time on the 15 day SF to Hawaii and back cruise.  We love her!  We are booked to sail on her to Alaska 5/30 of this year.

Completely agree.

IIRC, the Grand has one less deck than other ships of similar class, but the same amount of amenities and entertainment space. So theoretically it would be a relatively less crowded ship in terms of person to entertainment space ratio.

We sailed on her 3 times and loved it!

Wasn't she also the flagship until the Royal Princess?

Yes, she was!  The Grand was the largest and the most expensive ship ever to be constructed when it debut in 1998

We sailed a Med cruise on her summer of 1999.  She was a beast back then.  The worlds largest shopping cart as many liked to call her.  I remember pulling into Venice with her and all the locals complained about her size.   She’s just a midsize ship now by today’s standards.

And the initial reaction of guests just to this innocuous announcement is why they like quarantining to cabins...

But there was great applause when the announcement said that all the bars would re-open.
