sakigemcam Posted April 2, 2020 #2737 Share Posted April 2, 2020 So Channel 7 reported 29 staying on Zaan w symptoms, 14 being taken to local hospitals. I find the contrast between the ships so sad - Rotterdam with pax on balconies waving - Zaandam barren. I understand fewer pax but still, symbolic. So so sad. LOVE the greeters and airhorns around the Port.
Rare POA1 Posted April 2, 2020 #2738 Share Posted April 2, 2020 (edited) The Rotterdam had a fair number of pax on balconies. Note the Coastie and the machine gun in the foreground. Edited April 2, 2020 by POA1 3

However, I don't think it's an apt comparison. The USA was not on lockdown due to a deadly virus then and, since I visited a Holocaust museum in Florida in February during which the tour guide specifically talked about the St Louis episode, I don't recall him saying that the people aboard were in danger of killing anyone with a pandemic. (sorry, this is a bit off topic) It was disgusting and so was this but hoping for a Happy Ending! Prayers go out to the people on board@
