Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

I picked several pounds of peaches from our tree Sunday.  This morning I was going to make peach pie and peach cobbler and take one to work.  I set up everything to discover I dont have enough sugar.

Guess we have been making too many pitchers of mojitos with my homemade simple syrup.

Oh well, will have to bake when I get home from work tonight.

Someone told me it's all happening at the zoo.

I do believe it.

I do believe it's true.

Another day, another adventure with our California grandson.  Making memories.

How about a camel ride?

A fun day overall, and the rain stayed away while we were there.

Great adventures!  The time spent with your sweet grandson is time very well spent.  Fond memories in the making to look back on in years to come.

No pie until tonight but think of how much you enjoyed those mojitos. 🍹

No matter how many peaches I bring into this house they're gone very quickly. You're lucky to have a never ending supply of peaches during the season!

That is Wonderful!  Makes me very happy to hear.   I would love to see the cats seapass.  Is that on her webpage?

I haven't seen Bugs seapass card but I have seen pics and videos of Bug all around the ship during quarantine. Bug also has a stroller and private closet with a very extensive wardrobe.

It is my understanding that this cat "species", being "naked", suffers from cold....

Being a female, she needs an "extensive" wardrobe 😉  She gets wardrobe gifts from various passengers/admirers 😁

There isn't enough talk in this world to get me to eat a roasted cricket or any cricket.

I ate a chocolate covered grasshopper when someone brought a box to work. I was about 20 and presumably stupid!

This guy has weird videos.  He's eaten roaches (that's what they looked like) in Thailand and no they weren't crawfish which to me look like large roaches. I don't know much about lobsters but I wouldn't eat anything green that came out of it.

I also won’t eat the green stuff. If it’s not white it’s not going in my mouth. I also won’t eat oysters because it’s to much trouble picking it out. 🤮

That thing is huge. Looks like they have to carry it with so kind of machinery with the ropes on it. Must weigh a ton. Is there any particular reason they make them so big?

Our moving truck shows up tomorrow morning.  It will be nice to get some of our things so that we can start to live a more normal life again, but I'm NOT looking forward to dealing with all of those boxes.  It will still be months though until we can make some of the house changes that we want to make.  I talked to an AV installer about putting speakers in our ceiling and on our patio.  He has 45 Sonos Amps on backorder and isn't expecting them until October.  We went to an appliance store to look at under counter refrigerators.  Very few models even on their show floor as people have bought the demo models off the floor.  The sales lady was hesitant to even give us a delivery date as she said they constantly get pushed further back.  Went to an outdoor kitchen place to talk about getting a kitchen installed.  It's currently taking months to get things delivered.  Wow.

In the meantime, I'm still using a cheap Walmart folding table as a computer desk.  I did get a new toy today...a yoke for Microsoft Flight Simulator.  Unfortunately, the matching throttle/auto pilot is also backordered for months.  At least I can now use the Flight Sim software.  Trying to fly with a keyboard just doesn't work.  I flew around Amelia Island a bit and the realism is amazing, since it's based off satellite images.  I was able to see the roof of our house.

When you posted this awhile back it perked my interest again in the Microsoft Flight Simulator which I haven’t had for over 30 years!  Like me, @sgmns mentioned her husband is interested in it but needs an upgraded PC.  I have found a solution. On July 27 they are supposed to release a version for the Xbox series 10!  It is made to play at 4k.  I bet it will look good on the OLED tv.  I don’t have the Xbox series 10 but I was thinking 🤔 I need to get one ……for the grandkids……. Yes, the grandkids need one when they are visiting.  Why else would I get one. 💭

I am not sure if Xbox has a nice yoke like yours but if they do I feel like I would be neglecting the grandkids if I didn’t get a yoke too!

Beautiful!

Any idea who cares for the cat while she is cruising?    She should be able to sneak onboard...hehe

Bug Naked lives on board.

I am addicted and a complete binge watcher of the series. While I do not like reality television at all, the yachts, food and locations make up for it. Like Andrew said it's a complete train wreck of personalities but that what makes it fun. We record and watch on Friday nights with our cruising and cocktails theme. If you are interested I would go back and start watching the series from the beginning with the original "Below Deck" you can see the different Captains, their styles and follow along with some of the crew that had been on the series for awhile.

All I can tell you is that, while wandering through the market, we noticed a huge line of people waiting for chunks of the "huge", and by the time we finished our lunch, it was almost gone.

I assume this farmer is well known in the weekly market, and he knows exactly which quantity he will sell during the day 😉

TA just called.

Our October Symphony of the Seas sailing has some adjustments.

1.  Sail away at 7pm.

2.  Labadee cancelled, another sea day in its place.

3.  San Juan cancelled, St. Marteen substituted.

As long as we sail, I will be happy.

This is concerning. Wonder what’s going on in San Juan?  I’m to be on Explorer in SJ this November 7th. Now I’m worried.

San Juan was replaced by Nassau 🙄on my upcoming Celebrity cruise as well.  Not a recent change though. I love SJ and prefer it to Nassau.
