I finally got around to a chore that I've been putting off.  Organized a bunch of boxes and loose items into plastic crates in our garage.  Looks much better now.  We've also been told that cardboard boxes can attract wood roaches and other insects.

I have 3 sets of those shelves. Mostly use tubs, but have a few boxes. Need to work on that

We've thought about having a generator installed. It would be a good investment. I did have a whole house power surge protector installed at the main breaker which gives me peace of mind.

I got bids close to $15K. Think I'll pass

I've never really looked into pricing. Linda and I have just talked about the merits. If it's that expensive I'll take my chances without. I'd rather spend 15K on cruises.

They lure you in saying $4k, but then you'll need a bigger one, and installing is pricey😉

Was anyone hurt? In the TV news business we have read of people killed in a live truck that put it's mast up into power lines and tried to leave the truck. They were electrocuted to death. We had to take a safety course every year.

Other than the operator’s pride being a bit broken, everything else was good. They also might get a repair bill from Hydro.

They were spraying corn that was about 8-10’ tall and with dips in the field they could easily have missed judged the post. The interesting thing is with their GPS mapping, auto steer and always following the same track for the season it is strange that it happened because the power posts have been there for decades.

Thanks to Google these are some stock photos of what conditions they would be working in.

That's good. I just have read so many horror stories of people + metal+power lines not ending well.

Nice looking corn!

We missed our corn being sprayed by chopper today. It’s cheaper by ground sprayer but by air is faster. We didn’t take out any power lines either. Sorry, just a photo this year and no video.

We have two sets.  One above each car along the side wall of the garage.  Each 4'X8".  Came with the house.  I'm learning how to create storage in Florida without a basement.

We have a whole house generator and auto transfer switch.  Installed by the previous owners when they built the house so I have no idea what it cost.  Runs on the propane tank that's buried in our yard (no natural gas here).  It's already kicked on about a half dozen times in the year and a half that we've been here.  It's takes a couple of seconds to switch over so everything in the house needs to reboot, but it's really nice to have full power after one of those nasty thunderstorms goes through...especially keeping the A/C running.

Mine are all different.  3x6, 4×6, and 4x8. Love to experiment. The 4×8 has a plywood bottom.

You should look at the hooks you can hang on the bottom, and brackets for the sides. Amazon

We've had maybe 3 outages in 2 years. Never more than 2 hours. Backdoor neighbors have one.

Why did we miss the corn being sprayed?  We went to watch the Jays beat Detroit.

Owen saying hello to Buck Martinez and Hazel May. Buck is one of our play by play personalities who just recently returned from cancer treatment and Hazel is our on field commentary host.

We looked at that.  Instead had an electrician install a transfer switch into our panel and add a power inlet box for our 8k portable generator.

We have power outages a couple times a year.  I'm sure it's saved enough food to pay for itself since install.  Having heat or AC was necessary when my 90 year old mom was living with us (not to mention a happy wife).  And the peace of mind was worth it too....

Welcome back. We did this itinerary on the Equinox two cruises before you and enjoyed it a lot. Please take care and test yourself. DH got surprise free gift the night we disembarked🤪. Three days later it was my turn.  All is fine now.

My husband got it after our 8 night Equinox cruise in May so think he’s probably OK still.  I was with him 24/7 and never tested positive…. Go figure.

Fantastic. Let me know what you think? It's a high proof with a little bite on the front end but a couple drops of water will smooth it out real nice. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers!

@Sea Dog Oh my gosh.  This is wonderful, honestly one of the best I've tried.  You're right about the initial bite, but it's a pleasant one, and very smooth after that.  Many thanks for the recommendation!!!

Wiw that warns my heart. Us bourbon snobs are so happy to turn somebody to something new. That is what our community is all about. I was amazed what a difference adding a few drops of limestone water Howe it opens it up. Here’s a link to get some of the Buffalo Trace limestone water. It makes a huge difference.
