Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Continuing on Day 3 of the trip report - After the Rise of Resistance, it was time for Big Thunder Mountain coaster ride. Always enjoy the ride as it's fast enough to get your heart pumping but not too fast as to make your heart stop - if you know what I mean😝...

By then, it was after 12 noon and we have been running around the park all morning long going from ride to ride, time to slow down a bit for lunch and enjoy the rest of the park at a slightly slower pace. Besides it was already in the low 80s and hard to breath through the mask for many hours and walking around in the heat.

So it's back to the locker at Main Street to retrieve lunch.  On the way there, we ran into an impromptu parade. Due to Covid, Disney no longer has official parade times so people don't congregate so closely along the parade route.  Instead, they have these unannounced mini parade/float throughout the day.  It's really a hit or miss deal.

For lunch, we have always liked the Hungry Bear as it's tucked away on the far end of the park so it was very quiet.  But with Star Wars land built, the main walkway to Rise of Resistance goes past Hungry Bear so now it's more crowded than in the past.

After lunch, time to go back and soak in the atmosphere of the new Star Wars Land as we haven't seen it prior to this visit.

TSOD...POW-MIA you're not for gotten T-shirt. Wore it when I took a short ride on my motorcycle over to our Vietnam memorial wall to help with the wipe down of the panels.

What a wonderful thing to do for our Veterans.  Jim's cousin, Robert Araujo, is on the wall.  He was 19 and in the Marines when he was killed over there.  Jim was taken from the jungle and flown to Dover Delaware, where he escorted his cousin's body back to Staten Island for the funeral.  It was awful.

After Bobby's funeral, Jim was then sent back to Vietnam to finish the six weeks left of his Tour.

Sounds like you will never need to pay full price to visit WDW with all the CM discounts!😀

Harry, my cousin could take 2 guests into the Park for free for the day, unless there is a new ride attraction.  Not too shabby!😉

I was extremely lucky , was drafted in April 1969 and didn’t go to Vietnam, one year in Oklahoma and one year in Germany. Had a chance to meet and shake hands with a couple of Medal of Honor winners , including the first to win it in Vietnam.

@harryfat1

I like your wife's hat.

Thanks for the review and the pictures, brings back fond memories.

We've been twice to Orlando and once to LA.

We've tried Paris just days after opening (1992), but they were so unorganized that we gave up standing in line to buy tickets after 2 hours....

I think I need a few Bloody Mary's to calm me down. My wife say's I worry too much. I know I do, can't help it. I over analyze just my human nature. Thanks for your advice. Wish I was drinking a bloody mary with ya.

I just checked the royal website and it is showing 4 JS available for November 7th.    Several balconies, OV's, etc.      My guess is they bumped up the % to sell now as they anticipate they will have further cancellations this fall.

Sorry if I a little late to the game.    I had too much trouble getting on here this morning that I gave up and just catching up now.

Thank you, G & P,  your prayers worked !!!

The good news arrived in our Whatsup group at 7am today, and, truth to be told, at this ungodly hour, I was afraid to open the message....

He was administered twice the wonder anti-viral drug Remdesivir, and he's much better.

He had Covid-related pneumonia in both lungs....

That is wonderful news.   So happy to hear your friend is doing much better.    Hopefully he will be home from the hospital soon.

Never get any sleep in a hospital.

Thanks, Debbie.

Actually, he told everyone that he wants home....

But, since we had another friend, just at the beginning of Covid, who started to feel better, and then he had a relapse and died after a few hours, "we" [all the friends] told him "no way"....

A couple pictures from today. The stormtrooper has met its new “brother” today. Pick-up, pardon the pun, is Sunday.

Happy Tuesday from WDW. Day started off at rope drop to adventure land at 8;45am. When what to my amazing surprise hear the man behind me collapses and falls backwards on the lady behind him pushing her right leg to the pavement. The sound was not pretty.

So as the crowd stares guaking nurse mode into action.
He immediately opens his eyes. But is dazed. The ladies leg does not look pretty. Road rash.

I say heat stroke. 4 people offered us water. We placed two cold bottles on his forehead/ and one on neck.
I yell ((((HELP)))))))

My daughter says my voice can wake the dead.
Well the scream did. And he was dazed. A cast member told us to dial 911.   REALLY!!    Okay fine. But get me help too!!!!!

Just then he is more aware and asked what happened.
He drank water. Got up. And later in the day I saw him on Pirates of  the Caribbean.

The lady is going to have a bad night with all that scraped skin.

The weather was great. Temp 95. Humiydown to 199%.

Oh the. Castle is decorated in gold for upcoming 50th anniversary celebration.

Byeeeee

True...dont want to rush his recovery.

What happened to your friend, happened to my neighbor this past March.  She was feeling much better after a couple weeks in hospital and they were going to move her to rehab center for PT and she passed away the following morning.

Good thing you were there to help!

That's truly a shame about the womans leg.  But good to hear you saw the guy doing well later that day!

Hope you are able to enjoy your trip with no other incidents.

I think you are right. I hope that is the case. I will be real interested in what percentage they sail at. Will it be 35% or more?
